Beauty is a category where packaging is not incidental to the product — for many customers it substantially is the product, or at least the reason they picked it up. That puts independent brands in a difficult position, because the packaging that signals premium is exactly what UK suppliers charge most for and impose the highest minimums on. Sourcing directly is often what makes a considered brand viable at a small scale.
The constraints worth respecting are material compliance and finish. Anything holding a cosmetic or touching skin has to use compliant materials, which we specify and verify rather than assume. And finish quality — the weight of a cap, the precision of a pump, whether a colour reads as expensive or cheap — is genuinely hard to judge from photographs. That is why sampling is not optional in this category, and why we would rather delay an order than approve a finish from a screen.

Yes, when you specify compliant materials and verify them before ordering — which we do as part of sourcing, along with a sample.
Can a small independent brand order at a workable quantity?
Usually yes, particularly when you use a stock bottle or jar with custom decoration rather than a bespoke mould. Tooling a unique shape is a different scale of commitment and we will tell you what it requires.
Will the pump work with my formulation?
It needs checking rather than assuming — viscosity and certain ingredients affect how dispensers and seals perform over time. We raise it during specification and test it with a sample.
