This policy explains how Cambridge China Bridge collects and uses the information you share with us.
What we collect
When you contact us or request a price comparison, we collect your name, email, phone number, optional company name and the product details you provide, and, if you answer them, how you heard about us and which AI assistant. If you arrive from one of our tools, we also record which tool, so we know which ones are useful. We also record the website that sent you to us (for example a search engine or an AI assistant such as ChatGPT) the first page of ours you visited, and the page of ours you were reading just before you opened the form, so we know which channels and pages produce enquiries. We record that site only as a general category, never the full address you came from.
How we use it
We use your information to respond to your enquiry, prepare price comparisons, provide our sourcing services and assess supplier or partner cooperation.
Sharing
We do not sell your data. We share details with factories and logistics partners only as needed to fulfil your request.
Analytics & cookies
We use two statistics tools that set no cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics counts visits and where they come from. Umami (EU-hosted) shows, in aggregate only, which pages people read, for how long, the order they visit them in, and which pages lead to an enquiry; it records no names, no email addresses and no full IP address, and does not follow you across other websites. UK law allows statistics like these without asking first, as long as we explain them and you can switch them off: use the button below, and your browser will stop sending them. With your consent only, we also use two tools that do set cookies: Google Ads, so we can tell which of our adverts led to an enquiry, and Microsoft Clarity, which records how pages are used (clicks, scrolling and page views) so we can make the site easier to use. Clarity masks all text on the page and everything typed into forms and the AI assistant, so recordings show layout and movement, not what you wrote. Neither loads until you choose Accept in the cookie banner, and you can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. Google's and Microsoft's use of this data is described in their own privacy policies. If you accept, we also keep a note in your browser, for that tab only, of which site sent you to us and which page you landed on. It is included with any enquiry you send and deleted when you close the tab.
UK landed cost calculator
Our free landed cost calculator runs in your browser. When you search for a product it sends only that search term to the UK Government's public Trade Tariff service (trade-tariff.service.gov.uk) to look up commodity codes and duty rates. We do not store your searches, and the figures you enter for goods value, shipping, duty and VAT stay in your browser and are never sent to us.
Enquiries through an AI assistant
Our site offers an MCP connection that AI assistants such as Claude or ChatGPT can use. If you ask an assistant to send us an enquiry through it, the assistant passes us the same details as our enquiry form (name, email, phone, company, product and message), marked as coming from an assistant, and only after you have confirmed them. We use those details exactly as we use the form. The assistant's provider handles your conversation under its own privacy policy; we receive only what is sent to us.
Newsletter
If you subscribe to our monthly email, we keep your email address, the language you chose, where on the site you signed up, when you confirmed, and, if you asked for Chinese New Year reminders, your order-by date. We use them only to send the monthly email and the reminders you asked for. Nobody is added until they click the link in our confirmation email. The list is held by our email provider, Resend. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link; when you unsubscribe we stop emailing you straight away, and on request we delete your details entirely.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details, including enquiries sent through an AI assistant, for two years after our last contact with you, then delete them. Records of orders and invoices are kept for as long as UK tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information at any time by emailing enquiries@camchinabridge.co.uk.
AI import assistant
Questions you enter in our AI import assistant are processed by Cloudflare Workers AI to answer them and are not stored. The open conversation is held only in memory while this page is open; the assistant sets no cookies and uses no browser storage. We keep daily usage counters under a daily changing visitor hash, without storing your IP address or question text. To improve answers, the assistant also keeps anonymous daily counts of the topics asked about, the tools used, how each chat ended, the page it started on and its language. It does not store the content of conversations; the counts contain no names, contact details or identifiers and are kept for up to 13 months. Give your contact details in chat only when you want to enquire. We read back the enquiry and send it only after you explicitly confirm. During enquiry intake, contact details are collected deterministically and kept with the enquiry through the contact path, rather than with the full conversation. Signed draft state stays in page memory; daily receipt IDs and revision counters prevent duplicate sends and are deleted at midnight UTC. Newsletter consent is a separate choice and defaults to no.
Supplier and partner contact data
When you submit supplier or partner details, we use the company, products or services, contact information and optional supporting details to assess cooperation, carry out relevant checks and contact you about matching projects. We keep these contact details for two years after our last contact with you, then delete them; order and invoice records are kept as required by UK tax law. You can contact us to request deletion. Contact details are not shared publicly; any public company listing is agreed separately after a partnership is established.
