Fitness equipment carries a reputation for being expensive to import because it is heavy, and the freight cost is real. But it is also a category where UK distributor margins are wide, and on volume orders the direct factory price absorbs the shipping and still comes out well ahead. The people who benefit most are those equipping a whole gym floor or building a retail range, where the multiplication works in their favour.
Weight and safety are what shape our approach here. Heavy goods mean sea freight and careful container planning, which we build into the quote as a single landed price so you can compare fairly against a UK number. Does the freight on heavy gym gear wipe out the saving?
Usually not for volume orders — sea freight spreads the cost, and we quote a single landed price so you can compare fairly.
How do you check equipment is safe for commercial gym use?
Commercial-use load requirements go into the specification, and we inspect construction and welds on a sample before bulk. Equipment specified for home use does not belong on a commercial gym floor.
Can you supply a full gym fit-out in one order?
Yes, and it is the most efficient way to do it. Combining dense items like weights with bulkier machines fills a container well and brings the landed cost per item down across the whole order.
