China is the centre of global toy manufacturing, so the supply base is deep and the pricing is genuinely competitive. It is also the category where regulation is strictest and where the consequences of getting it wrong are most serious — both for children and for an importer facing a recall. We would rather be direct about that than sell the category as effortless.
In practice this means toy-safety compliance is not a check at the end but a constraint on the whole process. Products have to meet the applicable toy-safety standards with correct marking and age labelling, materials have to be verified rather than assumed safe, and testing needs to come from a laboratory whose reports can be relied upon. We build sampling and pre-shipment inspection into every toy order as standard. The UK party placing the toy from outside the UK on the market has importer duties; that may be us on a resale or the buyer on a direct-import arrangement. We agree the roles before ordering.

Agree the intended age range, applicable toy-safety rules, marking and product-specific evidence with the importer before production; the buyer approves the compliance file.

Test reports should come from a recognised laboratory and relate to your actual product — a generic certificate for a similar item is not evidence of anything.

Common questions
How do you handle toy safety?
We coordinate factory and document checks, samples and inspections. The manufacturer or agreed laboratory provides product-specific test evidence; the importer confirms applicable rules and release.
Who is legally responsible for compliance?
The UK business placing the toy from outside the UK on the market has importer duties. That may be us if we import and resell, or you if you import directly. A buyer selling under its own brand may have additional manufacturer duties. We agree these roles and the evidence needed before ordering.
Can I trust a supplier's test certificate?
Not at face value. We check that reports come from a recognised laboratory and cover your actual product, because a certificate for a similar item from a different production run proves nothing about yours.
