Stop supplier leaflets in own-brand packaging
Agree exactly what may go inside each retail pack, ban unapproved supplier material and give shipping paperwork a separate route. Before dispatch, open actual production packs and check every insert, label and contact link against your approval. Arrange the factory checks with Cambridge China Bridge.

Agree an approved list of retail-pack contents
For your first own-brand batch, attach an insert list to the packing instructions. Identify each permitted instruction booklet, care card, accessory sheet and brand insert by its approved artwork and revision. State explicitly that supplier price tags, catalogues, advertising leaflets, business cards and unapproved promotional gifts must not be added.
Approve both sides of each insert and the wording on bags, stickers and hang tags. Specify the customer-service details you want customers to use. Require written approval before substitutions or additions, and ask the factory to pass the same instructions to whoever prints and packs the order.
Check contact details without stripping product information
Review telephone numbers, email addresses, website links and scannable codes across the pack and enclosed documents. Open each code's destination and check whether it leads to approved instructions or to a supplier shop, sales account or registration form. Approve the destination as well as the printed artwork.
UK labelling guidance requires safety information for products that could be dangerous. Have the information applicable to your product confirmed before approving removals or replacements. Distinguish supplier advertising from identification, warnings and instructions. If the retail pack also serves as the delivery box, use the parcel-packaging brief to plan what stays visible.
Give shipping paperwork a separate route
Write down who receives the commercial invoice, shipment packing list and freight documents, and how they receive them. Agree document placement with the forwarder and receiving warehouse. Do not tell the factory simply to remove all paperwork: give shipping documents a route outside the customer-facing retail pack, while retaining approved product documents inside.
If a shipping document must travel attached to the shipment, identify its pouch and tell the warehouse when to remove it before customer dispatch. For parcels sent directly from China, confirm the carrier's document arrangements before packing. Keep shipping records accurate; prepare any customer delivery note separately with the wording you have approved.
Open a production pack as the customer would
Use the production packing check guide for carton selection and batch identification. Add a specific check for unwanted commercial material to the inspection brief. Ask the checker to open retail packs from actual packed production and photograph their contents before anything is removed.
Follow the customer's opening sequence through sleeves, folded booklets, accessory bags and concealed pockets. Lay out every enclosed item, photograph both sides and compare them with the approved list. Check attached price stickers and contact links too. Record the pack references and the scope checked; a clean sample does not establish that unopened stock is clean.

Correct affected stock before releasing it
If unwanted material is found, hold affected stock and ask the factory to identify which packing runs used it. Agree who will remove or replace it, how affected stock will be checked and how packs will be resealed. Where advertising shares a sheet with instructions, approve replacement artwork rather than discarding the whole sheet.
Request evidence from corrected production packs and record who authorises release. Use the repacking and recheck guide when packs are opened after inspection. Give the receiving warehouse the approved insert list so later fulfilment does not add unapproved material. Cambridge China Bridge's staff in China can check opened production packs against your agreed brief.
Frequently asked questions
How do I stop a factory putting leaflets in my packaging?
Attach an approved insert list to the packing instructions, explicitly exclude supplier promotional material and require approval for changes. Check opened production packs before dispatch.
Can I remove all supplier contact details?
Review each detail's purpose before removal. Have product identification and safety information confirmed separately, then remove or replace unapproved sales contacts using approved artwork.
Should the supplier invoice go inside the retail box?
Give shipment invoices a separate route to the forwarder or receiving business. Agree any attached document pouch with the carrier and tell the warehouse what to remove before customer dispatch.
Are photos of the sealed packaging enough?
Sealed-pack photos cannot show hidden leaflets or cards. Request an opening sequence from identified production packs, with every enclosed item and its reverse shown.
