Check the GNBS registration gate before ordering

Guyana's government portal states that importers and local manufacturers of product categories monitored by the Guyana National Bureau of Standards must register with the bureau each year. Before committing to a Chinese factory, ask your own Guyanese customs broker whether your exact goods fall within that scope and check the importer's registration.

Send the broker the model, materials, intended use and packaging proposal. Request a written checklist covering any applicable licence, product approval, certification, test evidence and labelling. Give that checklist to us before approving production so the factory can address it while changes are still practical.

Define the quote to your own Guyanese port

Tell us your destination port, specification, quantity and packing requirements. We can source from Chinese factories through our UK company and quote to your own port. Agree the delivery term and identify freight, insurance arrangements and destination charges in writing.

Use the overseas buying guide for the wider shipping arrangement and buying through a UK company for the purchasing service. Obtain your broker's separate estimate for clearance, local taxes, port handling and onward delivery before comparing the total cost.

Agree the factory and seller's document pack

We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the factory and agreed seller. Ask your broker to review the invoicing arrangement for a UK seller shipping directly from China. Match buyer and seller details, descriptions, values and delivery terms across the agreed documents; reconcile carton contents, weights and quantities before dispatch.

Where your broker requests a certificate of origin, we arrange it with the exporter in the agreed form. We collect the factory's available test reports and match them to the actual model, materials and configuration, arranging additional testing when agreed. Have the broker confirm acceptable evidence and approve label artwork before printing. Coordinate the transport document with the freight forwarder.

Check the supplier, then inspect the order

Our own staff in China check the supplier's identity, production site and capability against your specification. We establish who will manufacture the goods, review relevant equipment and processes, and identify proposed subcontracting. Keep the approved sample and written acceptance criteria available for production and inspection.

Before shipment, we inspect the finished order against the agreed specification and sample, including function, finish, quantities, packaging and broker-approved labels. Record defects, corrective work and your shipment-release decision. Keep this inspection report separate from the test reports and registration evidence requested by your broker.

Your own broker manages the Guyanese arrival

GRA states that cargo processing is undertaken by the importer or Customhouse Broker using ASYCUDA World. Agree that your own broker will confirm the final entry, check classification and valuation, prepare the declaration and supporting submissions, calculate applicable duties and taxes, and coordinate clearance and release.

Send the completed document pack to the broker before shipment and resolve outstanding questions before booking. If you also import into neighbouring markets, consult the separate Brazil guide and Colombia guide, then obtain a destination-specific checklist for each shipment.

We coordinate the commercial invoice, packing list and available factory test reports. Where requested by your broker and agreed with us, we arrange a certificate of origin with the exporter.
