Buying from China for a business? How our UK China sourcing agent service works · China sourcing agent for businesses outside the UK

Start with Customs' importer registration checklist
Customs' business importer-registration checklist includes the Customs importer/exporter registration form and a tax identification number from the Inland Revenue Department. These are part of the checklist. Before committing to a factory, ask your own customs broker to review the complete registration pack for your business and confirm who will be named as importer.
Send the broker your product description, materials, intended use and model details. Ask them to identify any applicable licence, certification or labelling requirements before production. If you also supply other markets, our Colombia guide and Mexico guide explain their registration questions; obtain a separate checklist for your Saint Vincent and the Grenadines order.
Agree a price to your own port
Cambridge China Bridge is a UK-based sourcing company with its own staff in China. Tell us your product specification, quantity, packing requirements and destination port in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. We can quote to your own port. Ask the quotation to state the delivery term, freight, insurance arrangements and destination charges left for you to pay.
Use our overseas buying guide for the wider procurement process and buying through a UK company for the purchasing arrangement. Have your broker estimate local clearance and delivery costs separately so you can compare the complete purchase cost.
Agree the factory's document pack before shipment
We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the Chinese factory and the agreed seller. Ask your broker to review draft descriptions, importer and seller details, quantities, values and delivery terms. Reconcile carton counts, weights and product references with the finished shipment before dispatch.
Where your broker requests a certificate of origin, we arrange it with the exporter. We obtain the factory's existing test reports or coordinate agreed testing. Have the broker confirm acceptable evidence and issuers, then match reports to the actual model, materials and configuration. Approve any requested label artwork before printing.
Check the supplier, then inspect the finished order
Our staff in China check the supplier's identity, production location and capability against your specification. We establish where the goods will be made, review relevant equipment and processes, and ask about subcontracting. Agree the sample, written specification and evidence you want before authorising production.
Before shipment, we inspect the finished goods against the approved sample and specification, including agreed checks of function, finish, quantities, packaging and labels. Record defects, corrections and your shipment-release decision. Keep laboratory testing and the broker's import-document review as separate tasks with their own evidence.

Your own broker handles the arrival
Customs states that the declaration must have its supporting document attached. It also confirms that declarations and supporting documents are submitted, reviewed and approved online. Send your broker clear electronic copies of the agreed document pack before dispatch and ask them to identify anything outstanding.
Agree that your own customs broker will confirm the final entry, classification and valuation, prepare the declaration, establish duties and taxes, and coordinate clearance and release. Arrange local port handling and onward delivery with them. Give Cambridge China Bridge the broker's checklist before shipment so the China work and arrival arrangements fit together.
