Buying from China for a business? How our UK China sourcing agent service works · China sourcing agent for businesses outside the UK

Start with your operational licence
Tuvalu’s finance ministry states that every registered business in Tuvalu must obtain an operational licence. For a commercial purchase from China, start by checking your business’s licence position before committing to the order.
Give your own customs broker the buyer’s details, product specification and intended use. Ask them to identify any product-specific permissions, certification or labelling to resolve before production. The overseas buying guide explains the wider purchasing arrangement.
Ask for a quote to your named Tuvalu port
We can quote for buying from Chinese factories and shipment to your named Tuvalu port. Specify the receiving port and ask for the delivery term, freight, insurance arrangements and included destination charges in writing. Our buy-through-UK-company service explains the purchasing route.
Ask the forwarder to identify any transshipment ports, handling arrangements and destination agent. If your order involves a separate import into another market, consult the New Zealand guide or Australia guide for that entry.
Give arrival clearance to your own broker
Your own Tuvalu customs broker confirms the final entry. Agree their work before shipment: checking classification and valuation, preparing the declaration, reviewing supporting documents and coordinating applicable payments and release.
Have the broker identify arrival costs separately from our port quote, including clearance, port handling, any examination and onward delivery. Send draft documents for review while corrections can still be made in China, and agree who answers questions when the shipment arrives.
Agree the factory and shipping document pack
The Chinese factory supplies packing details and available test reports for the exact model and materials ordered. We assemble and check the commercial invoice and packing list against the agreed purchase. Confirm the invoicing seller and consignee with your broker, particularly when buying through our UK company.
Ask your broker whether a certificate of origin is needed; we arrange it with the exporter where requested. Match descriptions, quantities, weights and carton references across the documents. Send test reports for review before production approval, and agree who will obtain any additional documents the broker identifies.

Check the supplier and inspect before dispatch
Our own staff in China check the supplier’s identity, production site and ability to make your specification. Agree the sample, materials, packaging and acceptance criteria before production. Use the quality inspection guide for the inspection method.
Before shipment, inspect the batch against that brief, record defects and compare carton markings and package counts with the packing list. Include any packing instructions supplied by your broker. Review the inspection report and unresolved issues before authorising dispatch.
