Importing from China to Serbia: conformity
Start with the Serbian technical regulation for your product: it determines whether conformity assessment is required. Agree the document pack with your own customs broker before ordering, and name the seaport or border point for your quote. Cambridge China Bridge manages sourcing and inspections in China.

Start with product conformity
Serbia's Ministry of Economy publishes the rule: “The obligation of conformity assessment shall be stipulated in a technical regulation.” Before ordering, ask your Serbian customs broker and product compliance adviser to identify the technical regulation for your exact product and confirm the assessment route.
The Ministry also states that the manufacturer, representative or importer applies the Serbian conformity mark after conformity assessment where the technical regulation requires it. Send your adviser the factory's declarations, test reports and proposed artwork before approving production. Ask for written confirmation of the documents, markings, label language and instructions to put into the factory brief.
Name the seaport or border point in your quote
Serbia is landlocked. We can source through our UK company and quote to the seaport or border point you name. Agree the delivery term, freight, insurance, terminal handling and the exact handover point. Agree the onward leg separately, including who arranges transport from the seaport towards Serbia and from the border to your premises.
Confirm whether we act as your sourcing agent or sell the goods to you through our UK company buying service. Our overseas buying guide explains the wider arrangement. If you also buy for neighbouring markets, use the separate Turkey guide and Poland guide to plan those orders.
Prepare the documents in China
Agree the shipment document pack with your broker before dispatch. The named seller provides the commercial invoice; the Chinese factory supplies packing details and the agreed product test reports. We coordinate and cross-check the invoice and packing list, arrange the certificate of origin where requested, and collect the agreed conformity documents.
Check that product descriptions, models, quantities, weights and company names agree across the pack. Match test reports to the actual materials and configuration ordered. Send drafts to your broker and arrange the transport document with the forwarder. Ask the broker to confirm which origin evidence suits your entry before requesting a certificate.
Give your own broker the arrival work
Appoint your own Serbian customs broker and agree their scope: classification, customs value, origin, the arrival declaration, duty and import tax calculations, and responses to customs queries. Ask them to identify any product-specific permits or authority checks before you commit to the factory. Your own customs broker confirms the final entry.
Give the broker the document pack and transport details before arrival. If the route passes through a foreign seaport, agree who handles that port and the transit arrangements with the forwarder and broker. Keep clearance, terminal charges, storage and onward delivery visible in your cost plan.

Check the supplier and inspect before shipment
Our own staff in China check the supplier's identity, production site, equipment and ability to make your specification. We compare the contracting company with the payment details, investigate subcontracting and retain the approved sample. For Serbia, ask the factory to show evidence for the exact product your local adviser has reviewed.
Before shipment, we inspect against the agreed specification and sample, covering workmanship, dimensions, function, quantity, packaging and approved labels. We record defects and check agreed corrections before asking you to authorise release. Factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.
Frequently asked questions
What should I check before importing from China to Serbia?
Identify your product's Serbian technical regulation with your broker and compliance adviser. It determines whether conformity assessment is required. Agree the evidence and factory brief before production.
Does my product need the Serbian conformity mark?
It depends on the applicable technical regulation. The Ministry says the manufacturer, representative or importer applies the mark after conformity assessment where that regulation requires it.
Can you quote shipping to Serbia through a UK company?
Yes. Name the seaport or border point and agree the delivery term and included charges. Serbia is landlocked, so the onward leg is agreed separately. Your own broker handles the Serbian entry.
Which documents do you arrange for my Serbian broker?
We coordinate the seller's commercial invoice, factory packing list and agreed test reports, and arrange a certificate of origin where requested. Your broker reviews the pack and confirms what your entry needs.
