Importing from China to Montenegro: product conformity
Start with product conformity: Montenegro’s market inspection checklist checks whether imported products meet the applicable technical rules. Ask your own broker to confirm the product route before ordering, then agree documents, inspection and a quote to your port. China-side work is coordinated by Cambridge China Bridge.

Settle product conformity before choosing the factory
Montenegro’s official market inspection checklist asks whether the product an importer has placed on the market conforms to technical regulations. Make that your first buying gate: send your broker and product compliance adviser the exact product, intended use, materials and model details before approving a supplier.
Ask them to identify the applicable requirements and specify the certificates, reports, markings, labels and instructions to obtain. Give that written list to the Chinese factory before approving production or packaging. Set an agreed document review before dispatch so missing evidence can be addressed while the goods remain in China.
Agree a quote to your own Montenegro port
Tell us your destination port, specification, order quantity and packing requirements. Request a written delivery term and named port, with freight, insurance and destination charges clearly identified. Ask your broker to estimate clearance costs and onward transport separately so you can compare the complete purchase cost.
Our overseas buying guide explains the general sourcing arrangement. Use our buy-through-UK-company service to agree who sells the goods and coordinates the order. If comparing destinations, read the Italy guide and Turkey guide as separate country routes; ask your Montenegro broker to assess your actual shipment.
Build the factory and shipment document pack
For a factory sale, request the commercial invoice and packing list from the Chinese factory. We coordinate and cross-check seller and buyer details, descriptions, quantities, carton counts, weights and the agreed delivery term against the order and inspected goods. If we sell you the goods, agree the commercial invoice arrangement with us and your broker before dispatch.
Ask your broker whether a certificate of origin is needed and which form it should take; we coordinate its arrangement with the supplier where agreed. The factory supplies its available test reports, and we check their connection to the ordered model, materials and configuration. Agree additional testing where needed, then send the draft document pack to your broker for review.
Give your own customs broker the arrival work
Appoint your own Montenegro customs broker and agree its scope before shipping. Ask it to review classification, customs value, origin, duties, import taxes and any product-specific permissions, then prepare the import entry using the agreed shipment documents. The buyer’s own customs broker confirms the final entry.
Agree who answers customs queries, coordinates any examination, arranges payment and obtains release information from the carrier. Confirm responsibility for port collection and onward delivery. Send the broker the final invoice, packing list, transport document and supporting product evidence together, keeping corrected versions clearly identified.

Check the supplier and inspect before shipment
Our own staff in China check the supplier’s identity, actual manufacturing site, relevant equipment and ability to make your specification. Agree a reference sample and written acceptance criteria. Before shipment, inspect the finished goods for dimensions, function, finish, quantities, packing and correspondence with the approved label artwork and instructions.
Record defects, agree corrective work and recheck before you authorise dispatch. Keep inspection findings, laboratory reports and the broker’s document review together, with each tied to the shipment. For pricing, factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.
