Importing from China to Czechia: EORI registration
For a business importing from China to Czechia, start with EORI registration, which Czech Customs requires for trade with non-EU countries. Agree the named seaport or border handover and your broker's clearance plan before shipping. Sourcing, supplier checks and shipment inspections in China are coordinated by Cambridge China Bridge.
Buying from China for a business? How our UK China sourcing agent service works · China sourcing agent for businesses outside the UK

Start with importer registration
Czech Customs states that every economic operator trading with third countries must register in the EORI register. Its customs portal says registration must happen before lodging a customs declaration or applying for a decision. Ask your own broker to check the importing business's registration before you commit to production.
Give the broker your product description, intended use and proposed route. Agree who will be named as importer and who will lodge the declaration. Our overseas buying guide explains the wider sourcing arrangement; this guide adds the Czech registration gate and inland handover.
Name the seaport or border point in your quote
Czechia is landlocked. We quote to the seaport or border point you name, with the onward leg agreed separately. Goods can travel from China through the agreed route while you buy through our UK-based company. Specify the delivery term, exact handover location, freight, insurance and destination handling in the quotation.
Ask for clearance and onward delivery to your Czech premises to be itemised separately. For route comparisons, see our Germany guide and Poland guide. Agree whether we act as sourcing agent or seller through our buy-through-UK-company service.
Agree product evidence before production
EU guidance says importers must ensure their imported products conform to EU law. CE marking is required only for products covered by harmonised EU rules that specifically mandate it. Ask your product compliance adviser to identify the requirements for your exact model, materials and intended use before approving production.
Turn that advice into a factory brief covering tests, declarations, label artwork and instructions. Have the adviser confirm the language and importer information for the Czech market before printing. Match reports to the actual product configuration, and agree how changes to materials or components will be reviewed.
Give your own broker the arrival work
Appoint your own customs broker to prepare and lodge the arrival declaration, check commodity classification, customs value and origin, confirm duty and import VAT, and handle customs queries. Your own customs broker confirms the final entry and any product-specific permits or supporting evidence.
Before booking freight, ask whether the plan is clearance at the arrival seaport or transit to an agreed clearance point. Have the broker and forwarder agree the paperwork, handover and onward transport arrangements. A quote to a seaport does not by itself settle where clearance will happen.
Build the document pack around the actual goods
The Chinese factory provides product and packing details and the agreed test reports. We coordinate the commercial invoice from the named seller, prepare and cross-check the packing list, and arrange a certificate of origin where your broker requests it. Agree its issuer and wording before shipment.
Send the broker draft documents and the transport document when available. Check that quantities, carton counts, weights, model names and company details agree. Keep the test reports and inspection report alongside the shipment file so the buyer can trace the evidence to the goods being released.

Check the supplier and inspect before release
Our own staff in China check the supplier's identity, actual manufacturing site, equipment and ability to make your specification. Keep the approved sample and written acceptance criteria in the order file. Before shipment, inspect workmanship, dimensions, function, quantities, packaging and approved labels against those criteria.
Record defects, request corrections and send the findings to you for the shipment release decision. Inspection checks the order against the agreed specification; laboratory reports address the tests commissioned. For pricing, factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.
