Importing from China to Croatia: EORI registration
For a Croatian business importing from China, start with EORI registration. Ask your own customs broker to confirm the importing business’s details before ordering, then agree product checks and a quote to your Croatian port. Sourcing and shipment preparation in China are coordinated by Cambridge China Bridge.
Buying from China for a business? How our UK China sourcing agent service works · China sourcing agent for businesses outside the UK

Start with the Croatian importer’s registration
For commercial imports, EORI registration is the starting gate. Ask your Croatian customs broker to confirm the importing business’s registration before placing the factory order. EU guidance says economic operators must communicate this number to customs authorities for customs operations. Our Italy guide explains the shared registration background.
Croatian Customs gives a specific warning for email applications: an EORI application sent to several email addresses will be rejected. Check the competent customs office and its published contact details before sending the application. Ask your broker to review the intended importer’s details so the registration and shipment documents identify the same business.
Agree product checks and a quote to your port
EU guidance says importers must ensure imported products conform to EU law; otherwise, they cannot import them. Before production, ask your compliance adviser to confirm the requirements for your exact product, including testing, labels and instructions for Croatia. Our Germany guide covers the shared product-conformity background.
We can coordinate buying through our UK company while goods travel directly from China to your Croatian port. Send the specification, quantities, packing requirements and named port. Ask for the delivery term, freight, insurance and destination-charge exclusions in writing. See buying outside the UK and our buy-through-UK-company service for the working arrangement.
Prepare documents while changes are still possible
For a factory sale, the Chinese factory provides the commercial invoice and packing list. We coordinate and cross-check descriptions, quantities, carton counts, weights and buyer details against the order and inspected goods. If we sell you the goods, agree the commercial invoice arrangement with us and your broker before dispatch.
We collect the factory’s available test reports and check their connection to the actual model, materials and configuration ordered. Ask your broker whether a certificate of origin is needed, then agree who obtains it and the required wording. Send the draft document pack to your broker before loading so corrections can be made in China.
Give your own customs broker the arrival work
Appoint your own Croatian customs broker to prepare and lodge the arrival declaration, review classification, origin and customs value, and confirm duties, import VAT and any product-specific permissions. Give the broker the product specification and draft shipment documents before dispatch. Your own customs broker confirms the final entry.
Agree who answers customs queries, arranges payments, coordinates release with the carrier and books onward delivery. Request a separate estimate for brokerage, destination handling and transport beyond the port. Compare that estimate with the quote’s exclusions before approving shipment.

Check the supplier and inspect before shipment
Our own staff in China check supplier identity, the manufacturing site, relevant equipment and the proposed production arrangements. Agree an approved sample and written acceptance criteria. Before shipment, inspect finished goods for dimensions, function, workmanship, quantities, packaging and approved labels, recording findings against the agreed specification.
Keep the supplier assessment, shipment inspection and laboratory reports together, with unresolved issues clearly marked. Agree corrective work and who authorises release after rechecking. For pricing, factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.
