Importing from China to Cyprus: EORI registration
A Cyprus business importing from China needs an EORI number. Cyprus Customs says locally established economic operators must complete form C. 1000. Confirm registration with your own broker before ordering and agree a quote to your Cyprus port. China-side sourcing and inspections are coordinated by Cambridge China Bridge.

Start with the Cyprus importing business
Make the importing business’s EORI registration your starting check. Cyprus Customs states that economic operators established in its customs territory must complete application form C. 1000. Ask your own customs broker to check your registration status and help prepare the application if needed.
Give the broker the importing business’s details, product description, intended use and arrival port before committing to production. Our Italy guide explains the shared EU registration starting point; the Cyprus application procedure is the local step to settle here.
Check the product before approving production
Cyprus Customs states that certain goods are prohibited or restricted. Ask your broker and product adviser to identify the requirements for your exact goods, including any permissions, certification, labels and instructions. Settle the document list and approve artwork before the factory prints packaging.
CE marking is required only for products covered by harmonised EU rules that specifically mandate it. Ask for evidence matching the actual model and configuration, rather than accepting a photograph of a mark. Keep the product review separate from the importer registration check.
Agree a quote to your own Cyprus port
Tell us your destination port, specification, quantity and packing requirements. Ask for the named port and delivery term in writing, with freight, insurance and destination charges clearly identified. Have your broker estimate the remaining clearance and onward-delivery costs before comparing offers.
You can buy through our UK-based company while goods travel from China to Cyprus. The overseas buying guide covers the wider arrangement. Use our buy-through-UK-company service to agree who sells you the goods and what the quotation includes.
Prepare the factory and seller documents
For a factory sale, request the commercial invoice and packing list from the Chinese factory. If we sell you the goods, we provide the seller’s commercial invoice and coordinate the factory’s packing information. Agree the invoice arrangement with your broker before shipment.
We cross-check descriptions, quantities, carton counts, weights and delivery terms against the order and inspected goods. Ask your broker whether a certificate of origin is needed; we coordinate obtaining it in China when agreed. We collect relevant factory test reports and arrange agreed additional testing. Send the draft pack to your broker while corrections can still be made.
Check the supplier and inspect in China
Our own staff in China check the supplier’s identity, production site, equipment and ability to make your specification. Agree a retained sample and written acceptance criteria. Before shipment, inspect finished goods for dimensions, function, finish, quantities, packaging and approved labels. The quality inspection guide explains how to define the scope.
Record defects, agree corrective work and review the recheck before authorising shipment. An inspection report and a laboratory test report answer different questions; review both where agreed. Factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.

Give your own broker the arrival work
Appoint your own Cyprus customs broker to prepare the import entry, review the shipment documents and confirm classification, customs value, duties, import VAT and any product-specific permissions. The buyer’s own customs broker confirms the final entry. Give the broker the agreed invoice, packing list, transport document and supporting product evidence.
Agree who answers customs queries, arranges payments, coordinates release with the carrier and books collection or onward delivery. Keep the quotation’s port charges separate from the broker’s estimate so you can see what remains payable on arrival.
