Importing from China to Sweden: EORI registration
Start with the importing business's EORI number: EU guidance lists economic operators established in the EU customs territory among those needing one. Have your Swedish broker check the importer details before ordering. Sourcing, checks in China and a quote to your Swedish port are available through Cambridge China Bridge.
Buying from China for a business? How our UK China sourcing agent service works · China sourcing agent for businesses outside the UK

Start with the importing business's EORI number
The European Commission lists economic operators established in the EU customs territory among those needing an EORI number. For a Swedish business buying from Chinese factories, make this your starting check: ask your own customs broker to verify the importing company's customs identification before committing to shipment.
Write down which business will import the goods and give its details to your broker and us. The Netherlands guide covers the comparable customs identification starting point; this guide adds the Swedish VAT handover.
Agree a quote to your Swedish port
We are a UK-based sourcing company with our own staff in China. We can manage purchasing from Chinese factories and quote shipment directly to your named Swedish port. Buying from China outside the UK explains the general overseas service.
Ask the quote to identify the delivery term, freight, insurance and destination charges included or excluded. Agree who sells the goods and which sale the commercial invoice records. Budget separately for your broker, local taxes, port handling and onward delivery unless included. Our buy-through-UK-company service explains the purchasing arrangement.
Set product checks before approving production
EU guidance says importers must ensure that imported products conform to EU law. Before approving samples, ask your product adviser for a written checklist for the exact goods and their intended use in Sweden. Ask specifically about testing, certification, labels, instructions and any product registration.
Give us that checklist before production or packaging printing. We compare the factory's proposed materials, model and supporting reports with your brief and flag gaps for review. For a neighbouring market with a different starting point, see the Norway product approval guide; obtain a separate assessment for Sweden.
Prepare the shipment file and Swedish VAT handover
The Chinese factory supplies packing details and existing test reports; we coordinate the commercial invoice with the agreed seller and collate the shipment file. Check the invoice's buyer, descriptions, quantities, values and delivery term against the order. Check carton contents, weights and dimensions on the packing list. If your broker requests a certificate of origin, we coordinate obtaining it from the China side.
Appoint your own Swedish customs broker to handle the arrival declaration, classification, valuation, duty and import VAT checks, and clearance queries. Your own customs broker confirms the final entry. Skatteverket says you must report VAT even when using a customs representative. Agree with your accountant who handles that reporting, and ask the broker to send the customs invoice details to that person.

Check the supplier and inspect before shipment
Our staff in China check supplier identity, the actual production site, relevant equipment and proposed subcontracting. We compare the contracting supplier, invoice issuer and payment details, investigate mismatches and report findings before you commit. Ask the factory for test reports identifying the exact model, materials and configuration ordered.
Before shipment, we inspect against your approved sample and written specification, including workmanship, measurements, quantities, packaging and agreed label artwork. We record defects and corrections for your shipment decision. Keep the inspection report, laboratory evidence and product assessment together, with unresolved issues clearly identified.
