Check importer tax registration before ordering
Belize Customs' published certificates document states that all importers must register with the Department of General Sales Tax for a Tax Identification Number. This is an older document using that department name, so ask your own Belize customs broker to confirm the current registration route and check the importer details intended for your shipment.
Send the broker the product description, materials, intended use and model details before paying a factory deposit. Ask for a written checklist covering any applicable import licence, product registration, certification and labelling. Use that checklist to settle what must be arranged in Belize and what the factory must prepare in China.

The Customs notice for the Port of Belize tells declarants to register and assess the declaration. Appoint your own broker to prepare the entry, confirm classification and valuation, calculate duties and taxes, coordinate any examination and arrange release. Have the broker confirm the current procedure at your chosen port and the final entry for your goods.
