Importing from China to Argentina: importer profile

Start by asking your Argentine customs broker to check your ARCA importer/exporter profile and the product's conformity requirements. We can source from Chinese factories and quote to your own port; your broker confirms the final entry and local costs. Your UK-based sourcing partner is Cambridge China Bridge.

Start with the importer's ARCA profile

ARCA creates an importer/exporter profile for managing customs declarations and other customs operations. Before committing to production, ask your own Argentine customs broker to check the profile for the intended importer and confirm who will make the declaration.

Send the broker your product description, materials, intended use, model and proposed invoicing arrangement. Ask for a written checklist before paying a factory deposit, particularly where the UK company will invoice goods shipped directly from China.

Resolve product conformity before approving production

Argentina's technical-regulation guidance says that covered products need a sworn declaration of conformity by product or product family and the conformity-assessment procedure specified in the applicable technical regulation. Ask your broker to establish whether your exact product is covered and which evidence supports it.

We collect the factory's available test reports and match the model, materials and configuration to your order. Have the proposed evidence reviewed before approving production. Ask the broker to confirm applicable certification, registration, labels and instructions, then include the approved requirements in the factory specification.

Agree the document pack and the seller

We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the Chinese factory and the agreed seller. Ask your broker to approve the seller, buyer, importer and invoice structure. Check that product descriptions, quantities, carton details and shipment references agree across the documents.

For a certificate of origin, ask the broker whether one is needed and which form is acceptable; we arrange it with the exporter when agreed. We supply collected test reports and agreed inspection records, and coordinate the transport document with the forwarder. Review drafts while corrections can still be made in China.

Separate the port quote from arrival costs

We can quote to your own Argentine port. Name the port and agree the delivery term, freight, insurance and included destination charges in writing. Ask your broker for a separate estimate covering clearance, applicable duties and taxes, port handling, storage and onward delivery. The overseas buying guide explains the wider arrangement; buying through a UK company explains our purchasing service.

Agree that your own customs broker checks classification and valuation, confirms the final entry, prepares the declaration and supporting submissions, and coordinates customs queries and release on arrival. If comparing neighbouring destinations, use the Chile guide and Brazil guide for their separate checks.

Check the factory and inspect before shipment

Our own staff in China check the supplier's identity, production site, manufacturing capability and proposed subcontracting against your brief. We agree a sample and written specification, check who will make the goods, and record the acceptance criteria before production.

Before shipment, we inspect the finished order against the agreed sample, specification, packaging and approved label artwork. We report defects, arrange agreed corrective work and obtain your shipment-release decision. Factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.

Frequently asked questions

What should I check first when importing from China to Argentina?

Ask your Argentine customs broker to check the intended importer's ARCA importer/exporter profile and confirm the declaration arrangements before you commit to production.

Does every product need Argentine certification?

Check the exact product. Official guidance requires covered products to have a sworn declaration of conformity and follow the applicable assessment procedure. Ask your broker which route and evidence apply.

Can a UK sourcing company quote to my Argentine port?

Yes. We can quote to your own port. Agree the delivery term and included charges, then ask your Argentine broker to confirm the final entry, clearance costs, duties, taxes and onward delivery.

Which documents will the factory and sourcing company provide?

We coordinate the commercial invoice, packing list and available factory test reports, arrange a certificate of origin when agreed, and coordinate transport documents. Your broker confirms the final document pack.
