Amazon UK rejected stock: what to do
Obtain the written rejection reason, establish who physically holds each part of the shipment, and agree recovery to a warehouse that can isolate and inspect it. Approve a documented correction, verify the affected stock and confirm the receiving route before resubmission. For factory-side follow-up, contact Cambridge China Bridge.

Establish exactly what was rejected
Save the receiving notice, shipment reference, delivery booking, carrier record and photographs. Ask whether the issue concerns the delivery appointment, pallets, cartons, unit labels, product condition or compliance evidence. Request the affected products and quantities, and distinguish a refused delivery from goods received but subsequently blocked. Do not authorise blanket relabelling from a vague message.
Compare the stated reason with the shipment instructions and specification used at dispatch. Ask Amazon to identify the relevant current requirement if the notice is unclear. Preserve original labels and packing evidence before changing anything. Our e-commerce sourcing guide covers upstream product and packaging decisions; this guide addresses recovery after rejection.
Locate the stock before booking recovery
Create a location record for each affected part of the shipment. Ask whether it remains on the carrier's vehicle, is at a carrier depot or outside warehouse, or has entered an Amazon fulfilment centre. Obtain written confirmation from the physical holder, with quantities, condition, contact details and any release instructions. A shipment status alone is insufficient for planning collection.
Reconcile dispatched, refused, received and unaccounted-for quantities without treating missing stock as confirmed rejected stock. For a split delivery, track each portion separately. Ask the holder about storage charges, collection deadlines and responsibility for booking transport. Keep disputed quantities open until supported by receiving or handover evidence.
Choose the recovery route that matches custody
For stock still with the carrier, agree return transport or onward delivery to your nominated warehouse. For stock held inside Amazon's network, check the available removal route in your seller account and ask support to resolve any unavailable or blocked option. Do not book a vehicle to collect from a fulfilment centre without confirmed release and collection arrangements.
Before authorising return or disposal, check the exact products, quantities, destination, charges and account settings. Obtain the removal or transport reference and track actual handover. Brief the receiving warehouse to expect potentially split arrivals, record shortages and damage, and quarantine the goods. Agree who pays for recovery and correction; use our faulty-goods claims guide for the separate supplier claim.
Correct under a written, controlled brief
Keep rejected stock separate from saleable stock. Write a correction brief linking the rejection reason to the affected batch, approved label artwork, packaging changes, work instructions and acceptance checks. Photograph the original condition and approve a corrected sample before releasing the work. Preserve batch identification and product information when replacing labels.
If safety is in question, stop the sales release and obtain a product-specific assessment. UK sellers must not sell consumer products they know, or should have known, are unsafe. A barcode or carton correction does not resolve an underlying safety defect. Set inspection scope around the actual failure using our inspection guide, with laboratory work where the assessment calls for it.
Release only verified stock for resubmission
Reconcile recovered goods into corrected, still-held, damaged and missing stock. Record who completed the work, what changed and the verification result. Check barcode scans against the intended product and variant, inspect finished packing and retain photographs. Require written buyer approval before the warehouse dispatches the corrected batch.
Confirm the current shipment instructions, labels and delivery booking before resubmitting; ask whether the original shipment reference remains usable. Keep recovery and correction records alongside the new dispatch record, then monitor receiving and investigate discrepancies. Send the root cause and approved changes to the factory so later production does not repeat the problem. Cambridge China Bridge's staff in China can support that factory-side follow-up.
Frequently asked questions
Why did Amazon UK reject my imported stock?
Obtain the written reason and affected quantities. Check whether the problem concerns delivery, pallets, cartons, unit labels, condition or compliance evidence before commissioning a correction.
How do I find stock rejected by Amazon?
Ask the carrier and Amazon to confirm physical custody. Reconcile the shipment into stock on the vehicle, at a depot or warehouse, inside a fulfilment centre, and still unaccounted for.
Can I collect rejected stock from Amazon?
Confirm custody first. Arrange transport with the carrier for refused goods still in its care. For stock inside Amazon's network, check the account removal route and obtain confirmed release arrangements.
Can I relabel rejected stock and send it back?
Only after establishing that relabelling addresses the rejection. Approve the artwork, verify product and variant scans, retain batch traceability and confirm the receiving route. Keep unresolved safety issues on hold.
