Small salon supplies orders from China
Yes, if suppliers accept the pack quantities you need and the delivered cost suits your budget. Brief capes, clips and neck strips separately, approve their samples and ask for a combined shipment quote. Cambridge China Bridge can coordinate the order with its own staff in China.

Brief the basket and check minimum packs
Send a shopping list showing each product, variant, wanted quantity and acceptable pack size. State whether the goods are for your salon or resale, your delivery postcode and your total budget including delivery. Keep this brief to non-electrical supplies. Include photographs of your current cape fastening, clips and neck-strip dispenser.
Ask suppliers to confirm minimum packs by product and colour, contents per pack, carton quantities and whether mixed colours or split cartons are available. Request stock designs and plain packaging before considering branding. Have unwanted extra stock priced separately rather than quietly increasing your order. Our small-orders service can help establish what suppliers will accept.
Compare samples as a working salon set
Try candidate samples together with your existing dispenser and normal washing and cleaning routine. Agree the method and acceptable result before ordering. Record the product reference, material, colour and pack format alongside photographs and findings. A useful cape sample does not approve the clips or neck strips.
Use sample comparison to organise the trial. For detailed product specifications, see the guides to woven capes, sectioning clips and paper neck strips. Bring the results back into the mixed-order brief so every supplier quotes the approved version.
| Product | What to specify | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Capes | Fabric, coverage, neck fastening and intended wash and drying method | Measure before and after washing; check shrinkage, colour transfer, seams, fastening and any claimed water resistance |
| Clips | Material, size, grip and intended cleaning method | Check hold on different hair sections, snagging, sharp edges, spring action and condition after cleaning |
| Neck strips | Paper, strip dimensions, roll or folded format, pack contents and dispenser reference | Load the actual dispenser; check feeding, separation, stretch, fastening, tearing when damp and lint |
Define skin contact and the evidence needed
Tell suppliers which surfaces touch skin, whether contact may be damp and how reusable items will be cleaned. Ask for material details, care instructions and evidence supporting claims such as suitability for sensitive skin or resistance to salon chemicals. Agree the intended disposable use of neck strips. Do not treat softness, a clean appearance or a reassuring sales description as proof of skin compatibility.
Official guidance for Great Britain states that consumer products must be safe in normal or reasonably foreseeable use. Keep safety evidence separate from your practical sample results: washing and dispenser trials assess performance but do not establish chemical safety. Ask a suitable testing provider what evidence is appropriate for the exact materials and intended use before approving the order.
Ask for a consolidated delivery quote
Request itemised goods and sample costs, China-side collection, receiving, agreed checks, repacking, storage, freight, clearance and final delivery. Ask the quote to identify duty and VAT treatment, exclusions, the importer and who arranges each remaining step. Provide your receiving address and access restrictions. Compare the complete delivered cost with a local supplier offering equivalent usable quantities.
Ask our consolidation service to quote the approved basket using expected packed weights and dimensions, then confirm the freight basis after repacking. Consolidation does not remove each supplier’s minimum packs. If the total exceeds your budget, reduce variants or remove a product and request a revised quote before committing.
Approve each product before releasing the shipment
Create a receiving list linking each supplier to the approved product, variant, pack contents and ordered quantity. Ask for separate findings on capes, clips and neck strips, with discrepancies held for your decision. Keep paper strips dry and protected during consolidation. The China warehouse guide explains receiving records, stock identity and release authority.
Agree whether a late or failed product holds the complete shipment or is removed from it, and request the cost effect before deciding. Approve the final packing list and revised delivery quote after shortages, replacements and repacking are resolved. Keep product references for repeat purchases, and recheck any proposed change to fabric, clip construction or neck-strip format.
Frequently asked questions
Can I mix capes, clips and neck strips in a small order?
Yes, subject to each supplier accepting your quantities and pack formats. Ask for separate product lines and a consolidated delivery quote before paying.
Can I order below the factory minimum?
Ask about stock colours, plain packs and split cartons. Get the accepted minimum for each variant in writing; combining products does not automatically reduce it.
Will Chinese neck strips fit my dispenser?
Send the dispenser reference, photographs and internal measurements. Approve the roll or folded format only after a sample feeds and separates correctly in your actual dispenser.
Is importing a small salon order cheaper?
Compare equivalent usable quantities at the complete delivered cost, including samples, checks, handling and taxes. If unwanted packs or delivery consume the saving, reduce the basket or buy locally.
