Getting started

China orders for spring and Easter 2027

Work backwards from stock ready for sale, approve samples before supplier shutdowns, and choose pre-holiday production only when materials, inspection and freight fit. Otherwise secure a dated post-holiday slot and check whether it still meets your launch. Coordinate the factory checks with Cambridge China Bridge.

Put the UK launch calendar before the factory calendar

For the coming spring, plan against 2027. The table gives the UK bank holiday dates relevant to spring launches. Set your stock-ready deadline before your promotion starts, allowing for receipt, checks and distribution. Ask your warehouse, carrier and retail customer about their actual opening and booking arrangements rather than assuming a bank holiday means every operation closes.

Turn the launch deadline into a supplier decision

Write down when stock must be accepted into your warehouse, when customers need it and when the seasonal selling opportunity ends. An Easter-specific pack can lose its purpose after the event; a general spring product may support a later launch. Decide which deadline can move before asking the supplier to compress its schedule.

Use the shipping lead-time guide for the stages to work backwards through. Then obtain the factory’s actual sample-room, production and dispatch shutdown dates, including critical component and packaging suppliers. The factory closure guide provides planning context; its estimates do not reserve capacity for your order.

Finish approval while corrections are still possible

Agree a sample submission date and a buyer approval deadline before the supplier shuts down. Name the person who can approve it and a deputy who can handle absence. Allow room for corrections and a replacement sample: receiving a sample on the last working day is not a workable approval plan.

Close outstanding material, colour, artwork, label and packaging decisions together. Record the approved sample and specification revision, plus any unresolved points. Follow the bulk production and sample guide for the approval standard. If approval remains incomplete, ask the factory to revise the production booking rather than treating silence as permission to manufacture.

Choose the production route using evidence

Choose pre-holiday production when the approved specification is settled, materials and packaging are available, the factory identifies a production slot, and inspection, possible rework and dispatch fit before shutdown. Ask for dated milestones and evidence of material readiness. A promise to finish before the holiday is weak if it leaves no opportunity to correct a failed inspection.

Choose a confirmed post-holiday slot when the earlier route depends on unfinished approvals or unverified capacity. Obtain the planned start and completion dates, production line, material status, inspection booking and dispatch plan in writing. Ask what happens if staffing or upstream suppliers restart late. A reopening date alone does not establish when your order will enter production.

Agree the fallback before committing the launch

Compare each route against stock ready for sale, not factory completion. If the post-holiday plan misses Easter, consider moving the launch, removing event-specific packaging or shipping an agreed launch quantity separately. Price and assess those options before committing; faster freight cannot recover time spent waiting for production.

Set a decision deadline for changing the launch or shipment plan, and identify who can approve the change. Keep inspection and document review in the schedule. If a milestone slips, use the factory delay recovery guide. Cambridge China Bridge’s staff in China can check factory progress against the agreed plan while the buyer controls launch and approval decisions.

Frequently asked questions

When are the Easter bank holidays in 2027?

Good Friday is 26 March across the UK. Easter Monday is 29 March in England, Wales and Northern Ireland; it is absent from GOV.UK’s Scotland bank holiday list.

When should I approve samples for an Easter order?

Agree approval before the supplier’s sample-room shutdown, with time to correct and resubmit. Confirm materials, artwork and packaging together so unresolved details do not block production.

Should I produce before or after Chinese New Year?

Use pre-holiday production only if approval, materials, capacity, inspection and dispatch fit. Otherwise obtain a dated post-holiday slot and check the complete route against your stock-ready deadline.

Does a factory reopening date confirm my production slot?

No. Ask for your order’s start and completion dates, line allocation, material status, inspection and dispatch plan. Confirm the dependencies that could move those dates.
