GB customs warehouse stock to Northern Ireland

China-made stock cannot use the simplified GB to Northern Ireland processes while under customs duty suspense. Agree the warehouse discharge and onward customs route with your broker before dispatch; a Northern Ireland delivery address does not establish eligibility. Cambridge China Bridge can help assemble the supplier paperwork.

Check the stock’s customs status

HMRC excludes goods under customs duty suspense from these simplified movements. Ask the warehousekeeper for the declaration and procedure covering your batch. Describe the stock as awaiting customs release where appropriate, rather than simply calling it UK stock.

Agree the route before booking transport

Removing warehouse goods can mean release to free circulation or declaration to another procedure. Ask your broker to confirm which route fits the shipment, how warehousing will be discharged and who handles the onward movement. Our customs clearance guide covers the general clearance process. For consumer deliveries, see our guide to sending GB stock to Northern Ireland.

Do not confuse warehouse simplifications with eligibility

Ask your broker whether simplified declarations are available for removing this batch from the customs warehouse. Those are a separate question from eligibility for simplified internal market movements. Ask the broker to name the procedure they propose and explain why it applies to this batch. Use our broker and forwarder guide to agree responsibilities.

Build a batch-specific dispatch pack

Send the broker the warehouse entry, stock record, product description, Chinese origin, invoice, packing list, recipient and intended use. Ask for written confirmation of the route and any unresolved eligibility checks before instructing collection. Our customs documents guide covers the underlying commercial paperwork. Cambridge China Bridge’s staff in China can help reconcile factory documents with the stock being dispatched. For buyer viewings before dispatch, see viewing customs warehouse goods.

Frequently asked questions

Can bonded stock use simplified movements to Northern Ireland?

Goods under customs duty suspense are excluded. Give your broker the warehouse declaration before choosing the onward route.

Does a Northern Ireland delivery address qualify my stock?

The address alone does not resolve the duty-suspense exclusion. Ask the broker to assess the actual customs status and proposed movement.

Should I release the goods in GB first?

Ask your broker to compare release to free circulation with another appropriate customs procedure. Agree the route and its costs before authorising discharge.

What should I ask my warehousekeeper before collection?

Request the batch’s customs entry, current procedure and stock record. Ask how the proposed discharge will be recorded and coordinate collection with the broker.
