Importing from China to Ukraine: customs registration
Start by checking your Ukrainian customs registration: the government's Diia guide describes a central register covering declarants. Ask your own broker to confirm your status and product requirements before ordering. Sourcing in China and a quote to your agreed port can be arranged through Cambridge China Bridge.

Start with Ukrainian customs registration
Ukraine's Diia government guide states that customs maintains central registration of resident and non-resident declarants, carriers, guarantors and other businesses under customs supervision. Before placing a commercial order, ask your Ukrainian customs broker to check the registration of the business that will import and agree who will make the declaration.
Send the broker your product description, intended use, materials and proposed route. Ask them to identify any registration work and product checks before you approve production. Our overseas buying guide covers the general sourcing arrangement; this guide adds the Ukrainian registration check and shipment handover.
Agree a quote to your own port
We can source from Chinese factories through our UK company and quote to your agreed destination port. Name the port and delivery term, then specify which freight, insurance and destination charges are included. Ask the forwarder to confirm the available route and carrier acceptance before booking, and agree how a route change would affect the quote.
Agree whether we act as your sourcing agent or sell the goods to you, as explained in buying through a UK company. If comparing a Polish port with a Ukrainian port, use the Poland guide to prepare questions for the respective brokers. Ask them to explain the clearance and transit arrangements for each route.
Turn product advice into a factory brief
Before approving samples or packaging, ask your broker and a Ukrainian product compliance adviser which technical regulations, conformity procedures, registrations and label requirements apply to the exact goods. Request a written list identifying the product and intended use. Treat a factory's claim that it exports to Europe as a starting point for checking its documents.
Give the factory the agreed testing, declaration, marking, language and instruction requirements. Match reports to the actual model, materials and configuration, and obtain approval of label artwork before printing. For a separate destination comparison, the Turkey guide explains that market's approach; ask your Ukrainian adviser to assess the Ukrainian shipment separately.
Prepare the documents and arrival handover
Agree the document pack with your broker before shipment. The seller named in the transaction provides the commercial invoice; the Chinese factory supplies packing details and available test reports. We coordinate and cross-check the invoice and packing list, arrange a certificate of origin where requested, and gather the agreed reports. Ask your broker to review drafts against the order before dispatch.
Appoint your own customs broker to handle the arrival declaration, confirm classification, customs value, origin, duties and import taxes, and answer customs queries. Your broker confirms the final entry. Send them the transport document and agreed supporting pack, and allocate responsibility for destination handling, storage and onward delivery before the cargo arrives.

Check the supplier and inspect before shipment
Our own staff in China check the supplier's identity, production site, equipment and ability to meet your specification. We compare the contracting company, invoice details and payment account, and investigate proposed subcontracting. Keep the approved sample, specification and named production site together so that later substitutions can be checked against your approval.
Before shipment, we inspect against the agreed brief, covering workmanship, dimensions, function, quantity, packaging and label artwork. Record defects, corrections and your release decision. Physical inspection and laboratory testing answer different questions; agree both scopes where needed. Factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.
