Importing from China to Tajikistan: local importer

Start by confirming your Tajik importer’s eligibility: the published Customs Code normally requires a domestic declarant, with specified exceptions. Have your own broker confirm the final entry before ordering. Agree a named seaport or border point and the onward leg separately with Cambridge China Bridge.

Confirm the local importer before choosing a factory

The Customs Service’s published Customs Code normally reserves declarant status to a domestic person, with specified exceptions. For a commercial purchase, start by asking your Tajik customs broker to confirm who will be the importer and whether that party can act as declarant.

Send the broker your proposed importer’s registration documents, product description and intended use before paying a deposit. Ask for a written checklist of any outstanding registration, product approval, certification or labelling work. Use the overseas buying guide for the wider sourcing process.

Agree what your own customs broker handles

The published Code allows goods to be declared by the declarant or, at the declarant’s choice, a customs broker. Appoint your own broker and agree responsibility for preparing and lodging the declaration, answering customs queries, arranging any examination and coordinating release on arrival.

Ask the broker to confirm the final entry, classification, customs value, applicable duties and taxes, and product-specific documents. Give them the proposed route and draft paperwork before dispatch. If you are comparing regional destinations, consult the Kazakhstan guide separately and obtain a destination-specific checklist.

Build the document pack around the actual shipment

We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the Chinese factory, matching the agreed seller and buyer details, product descriptions, quantities, packaging and shipment terms. Send drafts to your broker so discrepancies can be corrected while the goods are still in China.

Where your broker’s checklist calls for a certificate of origin, we arrange it with the factory and relevant issuer. We obtain available test reports from the manufacturer and coordinate additional testing where agreed. Ask your broker to confirm the acceptable issuer, format and product coverage before commissioning documents.

Check the supplier and inspect before shipment

Our own staff in China check the supplier’s business identity, production address and ability to make the specified goods. We establish whether the seller manufactures the product or buys it elsewhere, review samples and compare supporting reports with the exact model being ordered.

Before shipment, we inspect against the agreed specification and approved sample, checking workmanship, operation, quantities, packaging and agreed label artwork. We report discrepancies for your decision before dispatch. The quality inspection guide explains how to set the inspection brief.

Name the seaport or border point in your quote

Tajikistan is landlocked. We quote to the seaport or border point you name, with the onward leg agreed separately. State the exact handover location and delivery term, then identify who arranges onward transport, transit coordination, insurance, unloading and local clearance.

Send us the product specification, quantity, importer details, broker’s checklist and named handover point. Our buy through a UK company service explains the purchasing arrangement. Factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.

Frequently asked questions

Can a UK sourcing company be my Tajik importer?

Do not assume so. The published Code normally requires a domestic declarant, with specified exceptions. Ask your Tajik broker to confirm the eligible importer before ordering through the UK company.

Who clears my goods when they reach Tajikistan?

Agree the arrival work with your own customs broker. The Code permits declaration by the declarant or a broker chosen by the declarant. Your broker confirms the final entry.

What documents should I get from the Chinese factory?

We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list, arrange a certificate of origin where requested, and obtain relevant test reports. Have your broker approve the document checklist and drafts before dispatch.

Can you quote delivery to Tajikistan?

Yes. Name the seaport or border point for the quote. Tajikistan is landlocked, so agree the onward leg separately and specify who handles transport, transit coordination and local clearance.
