Start with the standards certificate

Sudan Customs lists a certificate from the standards and metrology authority among the documents an importer presents. Send your Sudanese customs broker the product specification, intended use and available test reports before committing to a factory. Ask them to confirm the applicable certificate, who obtains it and what must happen in China.

The Sudanese Standards and Metrology Organization says documents are checked against the approved standard and other technical requirements. Ask your broker to obtain the relevant checklist before samples, testing or packaging are approved. Keep the certificate process separate from our commercial inspection of the goods.

Agree a price to your own port

Tell us the product, quantity, intended use and destination port in Sudan. We can quote through our UK-based company for sourcing from Chinese factories and shipment to your own port. Ask the quote to identify the delivery term, freight, insurance arrangements, destination charges and where responsibility passes.

Ask your broker for a separate arrival-cost estimate before comparing offers. Agree who pays port handling, clearance, storage and onward transport. Our guide for buyers outside the UK covers the wider service, while buying through a UK company explains the purchasing arrangement.

Prepare the China-side document pack

Agree the document pack with your broker before production. The Chinese factory supplies product details, packing information and available test reports. We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the relevant seller and exporter, arrange the certificate of origin where needed, and collect the agreed technical documents.

Sudan Customs lists a certificate of origin as circumstances require. Ask your broker to confirm its applicability and acceptable form. Before dispatch, check that product descriptions, models, quantities, weights, buyer details and origin agree across the documents. Match test reports to the actual model and construction being supplied.

Check the supplier and inspect before shipment

Our own staff in China can check the supplier's identity, production address, factory or trading role, equipment and ability to make your specification. Agree an approved sample and written acceptance criteria. Investigate certificates and reports by checking the issuer, scope and product identity rather than accepting a logo or a supplier's assurance.

Before shipment, inspect the agreed goods for workmanship, dimensions, function, quantities, labels and packing. Record defects and agree corrective action before authorising dispatch. Use the Egypt guide and Ethiopia guide when comparing destination workflows; have your Sudanese broker define the checklist for this shipment.

Give your Sudanese broker the arrival handover

Appoint your own customs broker in Sudan early. Agree that they will review the draft documents, confirm the final entry, classification, valuation, duties, taxes and any product permissions, then handle the arrival declaration and coordinate examination and release. Give them the final document pack and transport details before arrival.

Ask the broker and forwarder to confirm the receiving port, carrier arrangements, document handover and collection plan before loading. We handle the agreed China-side sourcing and shipment work; your broker manages local clearance. Keep written approval of the document pack, inspection outcome and shipping instructions together.

Sudan Customs lists a certificate from the standards and metrology authority. Ask your Sudanese broker to confirm the certificate route and supporting evidence for your particular product before ordering.

Can I get a China sourcing quote to my port in Sudan?

Yes. Give us the product brief and destination port. Agree the delivery term and included costs, then ask your broker to estimate clearance, local charges and onward delivery.

Which documents will the factory and sourcing company provide?

Agree commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin where applicable, and relevant test reports in the order scope. We coordinate the pack with the factory and exporter for your broker to review.
