Check whether your product needs an import permit
The Ministry of Commerce and Industry's business handbook states that an Import Permit Declaration is required to import certain products into Liberia. Start by sending your broker the product description, materials, intended use and draft invoice. Ask for written confirmation of the applicable permit route before committing to production.
The handbook is an older official publication, so use it to identify the question rather than settle every shipment detail. Ask your broker to confirm current product coverage, importer paperwork and any official inspection arrangements before dispatch. For regional comparisons, consult the separate guides to Ghana and Nigeria; obtain a Liberia-specific checklist for your order.
Agree a quote to your own Liberian port
Tell us your destination port, product specification, order quantity and packaging needs. Cambridge China Bridge is a UK-based sourcing company with its own staff in China. We can source Chinese factories and quote to your named Liberian port, whether you are planning a trial order or repeat purchases.
Ask the quote to identify the delivery term, freight, insurance arrangements and where responsibility passes to you. Have your broker price arrival charges, clearance, duties, taxes and onward transport separately, then reconcile these with the quote. The overseas buying guide explains the wider procurement process.
Give your customs broker the arrival work
The Liberia Revenue Authority says customs brokers, importers and exporters can interact with it through its customs system. Agree that your own broker will prepare the declaration, submit supporting documents, handle customs queries and coordinate clearance on arrival. Your broker confirms the final entry, including classification, valuation and applicable charges.
Before booking freight, ask the broker whether your shipment needs a Clean Report of Findings or another official inspection document, and who must arrange it. Also ask about product registration, certification and label wording for your exact goods. Send the answers to us before testing, printing packaging or approving shipment.
Prepare the factory and shipping documents together
We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the factory, checking the seller, buyer, consignee, descriptions, quantities, weights and carton details against the agreed order. Agree who issues the commercial invoice for your purchasing arrangement. Coordinate the bill of lading with the freight provider and have your broker review draft documents.
Ask your broker whether a certificate of origin and product test reports are needed for the entry. We arrange the agreed origin documentation and obtain relevant reports from the factory or testing laboratory. Check that each report covers the actual model, materials and manufacturer being supplied. Settle document availability before placing the order.

Check the supplier and inspect before shipment
Our staff in China check the supplier's identity, factory location, production capability and proposed subcontracting. We agree the specification and approved sample with you, then inspect production goods against that agreement. Checks can cover dimensions, materials, function, finish, labels, quantities and export packaging, with photographs and findings for your review.
Agree how defects will be corrected and rechecked before shipment approval. Ask us to explain the scope of our inspection alongside any official inspection your broker identifies. Start through buying through a UK company, sending the product brief, destination port and your broker's checklist together.
