Zero duty on stainless steel urinal bodies

Heading 7324 covers sanitary ware and parts of iron or steel. Stainless steel urinal bodies fall within the other sanitary ware category, rather than the stainless steel sinks and washbasins category. The table shows product variants using the same candidate commodity code.

Read from the UK Trade Tariff on 30 September 2026, code 7324 90 00 90 carries 0% duty for goods from China. The supplied record lists no anti-dumping or countervailing duty, suspension, steel measure or attached import control for this line.

Specify the urinal body and flushing assembly

Agree wall-hung, floor-standing or trough construction, steel grade, sheet thickness, surface finish, overall dimensions and fixing positions. Drawings should show the waste outlet, trap connection, inlet position and access for maintenance. State whether the order includes brackets, wastes, traps, flush pipes or controls.

Ask the local water company to confirm the applicable water fittings requirements, including quality and standards, before approving the flushing assembly. For waterless models, agree the cartridge system, replacement access and cleaning instructions with the installer.

The customs value is £7,600. Duty at 0% is £0. Import VAT at 20% is charged on the customs value plus duty, £7,600, so it is £1,520. Inspection checklist

Materials: verify the agreed stainless grade and measure sheet thickness at accessible points; compare the finish with the approved sample.

Welds and drainage: inspect seams for pinholes, roughness and discolouration; test for leaks and standing water using the intended waste connection.

Installation: trial-fit brackets, traps and flush connections against the approved drawing; check access for tightening and maintenance.

What goes wrong

A trough can look correct but retain water because the outlet or fall differs from the approved sample. Rough welds trap dirt, thin panels dent, and distorted brackets prevent a flush wall fit. Approve a functioning sample with the intended waste and flushing arrangement.

Mixed supply packages cause installation problems when the body arrives without matching traps, brackets or flush pipes. List included components on the order and check them against the packing list. For waterless models, confirm replacement cartridge availability before committing.
