Material and standards
An acrylic bath is a thermoformed acrylic sheet reinforced from behind with resin and glass fibre, and the sheet thickness and reinforcement decide how rigid and durable it is. Specify both, with the frame and feet, and ask for test reports against the European standards for baths and for shower trays, EN 14516 and EN 14527, which merchants expect.
Toilet seats are sold on hinge strength, fixing and soft-close durability; ask for cycle testing of the hinges.
UK fittings
Waste outlets, overflow and tap holes must suit UK fittings and pipe sizes, and fittings on the water supply must meet the Water Fittings Regulations. Put the waste size and tap hole layout in the product specification and check them on samples.
