Selling China-sourced products on Amazon UK

Set up the seller account in your business’s name, settle the brand and product identifier, then prepare the listing against the actual factory specification. Check listing blockers before committing to production. Factory evidence can be coordinated in China by Cambridge China Bridge.

Prepare the seller account before ordering

Compare the selling plans against the tools you intend to use. Amazon asks for the exact registered business name. Prepare your business records, contact identification, address evidence, payment card and receiving bank details alongside the registration form. Resolve inconsistent names or addresses before submitting documents.

Keep the account email and recovery access under your business’s control. Work through registration, billing, bank details and identity verification, then review the UK store settings. Decide who will handle verification requests and listing problems. Keep account verification separate from your product evidence folder.

Settle brand ownership before printing packaging

Decide whether you are reselling an existing brand, launching your own brand or selling an unbranded product. For Amazon Brand Registry, the applicant must be the trademark owner, and the trademark text must match the application’s brand name. Review enrolment eligibility before approving packaging artwork.

For your own brand, keep control of the brand records, artwork and account access. For another company’s brand, ask for a traceable supply chain and written confirmation of your selling permissions. Keep supplier invoices and correspondence together. A factory’s willingness to print a logo is not evidence of brand ownership.

Choose the catalogue route and identifier

In Seller Central, open Catalogue, then Add Products. Search for the exact product before creating anything. Compare brand, model, pack contents and configuration with your sample, rather than matching a similar photograph. Amazon says the first seller offering a product creates a new listing.

Check the product identifier and any exemption route shown for your product before printing labels. Agree which identifier belongs to each sellable configuration and keep that mapping with the factory specification. Use our barcode validation guide before approving production artwork.

Build a listing pack from the actual product

Prepare the title, photographs, material description, dimensions, instructions and pack contents from the approved sample. Record which factory model supports the listing and collect the corresponding invoice, label photographs and test reports. Check report holder, model and configuration using our product marking and certification guide.

Run through the listing form and review any approval or document prompts before releasing production. Ask the supplier for the specific missing evidence rather than a general certificate bundle. Keep each request, submitted document and response together. For parcel design and returns prevention, use our ecommerce sourcing guide.

Separate listing readiness from stock readiness

Before making the offer available, compare the finished goods with the listing: brand spelling, model, accessories, warnings, packaging and photographs. Confirm the fulfilment method, available stock and delivery settings. Check the customer-facing offer as well as the saved catalogue record.

If a listing is blocked, record the message and investigate the named issue before changing product details. If the factory changes materials or components, revisit the evidence and listing together. Ask Cambridge China Bridge to coordinate samples, label photographs and factory documents with its own staff in China.

Frequently asked questions

Should I open my Amazon UK account before ordering?

Yes. Prepare registration and investigate the intended listing before committing to production, so account queries, brand questions and missing product evidence can be addressed early.

Can my Chinese factory set up my Amazon account?

Keep the account, recovery access and business records under your control. Ask the factory to supply product documents and photographs, and assign account administration within your business.

Can I use an existing Amazon product listing?

Search for the exact product and compare its brand, model, configuration and pack contents with your stock. Do not match a listing just because its photograph looks similar.

What factory evidence should I prepare for a listing?

Keep invoices, model details, label photographs, approved artwork and applicable test reports together. Match them to the finished product and respond to the specific documents requested in your seller account.
