Importing from China to Romania: EORI registration
A business importing from China to Romania needs an EORI number. Check your importing company's registration before ordering, appoint your own customs broker and agree the documents and product checks before shipment. For sourcing through a UK company and a quote to your Romanian port, use Cambridge China Bridge.
Buying from China for a business? How our UK China sourcing agent service works · China sourcing agent for businesses outside the UK

Start with your importing company's EORI
EU guidance makes an EORI number mandatory for businesses importing into the EU. For businesses established in the EU, the issuing authority is the customs authority where the business is established. Ask your Romanian customs broker to check your company's registration and confirm the current application route before committing to production.
Send the broker your product description, materials, intended use and proposed port. Ask for a written list of product checks and shipment documents. Our overseas buying guide explains the general arrangement; the Poland guide provides a neighbouring EU comparison.
Define the quote to your Romanian port
You can buy through our UK company while the goods travel directly from China to your Romanian port. Name the port and delivery term in the quote. Identify freight, insurance, destination handling, clearance and onward delivery as included or separately payable, then ask your broker to check the arrival costs.
Agree whether we act as your sourcing agent or sell the goods to you. Record the seller, buyer and Romanian importing company consistently in the order file. The buying through a UK company service explains the commercial arrangement. Keep your broker involved when approving invoice drafts.
Approve the product file before labels are printed
EU guidance says importers must ensure that imported products conform to EU law. Ask your product compliance adviser to identify the testing, declarations, markings and language requirements for your exact goods. CE marking applies only where the relevant product rules require it.
Give the factory an agreed brief covering the model, materials, label artwork, importer details and instructions. Match test reports to the actual product configuration and approved sample. The Turkey guide explains that destination's controls; ask your Romanian advisers to settle the requirements for this shipment.
Build the document pack around your broker's entry
The seller named in your arrangement provides the commercial invoice. The Chinese factory supplies packing details and available test reports. We coordinate and cross-check the commercial invoice and packing list, arrange a certificate of origin where your broker requests it, and gather the agreed test reports. Ask the broker to approve drafts before shipment.
Appoint your own customs broker to handle the arrival declaration, check classification, customs value and origin, confirm duty and import VAT, and answer customs queries. Your broker confirms the final entry. Send the transport document with the agreed pack and arrange destination handling and onward delivery. Ask who will contact you if customs requests further evidence.

Check the factory and inspect the shipment
Our own staff in China check the supplier's identity, production site, equipment and ability to make your specification. We compare the contracting company, invoice details and payment account, and ask where any subcontracted work happens. Keep the approved sample and specification available for the inspection.
Before shipment, we inspect against the agreed checks for workmanship, dimensions, function, quantity, packaging and label artwork. We report defects and corrections for your release decision. Inspection does not replace laboratory testing. Factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.
