Start with the product’s import permissions
Make the licence check your starting gate. North Macedonia’s EXIM portal directs businesses to the relevant institutions’ websites for information about applying for and issuing the permits it covers. Ask your own customs broker to check your proposed tariff classification and identify the authority to consult for your exact goods.
Send the broker the specification, intended use, materials and available product reports before committing to production. Ask for written confirmation of any permissions, certification, labels or supporting documents to arrange. The medicines and medical devices agency’s EXIM guidance says applicants can track their applications through to issuance; ask who will monitor any application for your shipment.
Name the seaport or border point in your quote
North Macedonia is landlocked. Tell us the seaport or border point you want priced, and agree the onward leg separately. Ask the quote to identify the delivery term, named handover point, freight, insurance and destination charges included. If your forwarder collects in China, specify that collection point instead.

Prepare the factory document pack
For a factory sale, the Chinese factory prepares the commercial invoice and packing list. We coordinate and check the drafts against the order and inspected goods, including descriptions, quantities, carton counts, weights and buyer details. Check the supplier and inspect before shipment
Our own staff in China check the supplier’s identity, manufacturing location, equipment and ability to make the agreed specification. Establish an approved sample and written acceptance criteria. Review available reports against the proposed goods, and ask the factory to explain any differences between tested samples and production.
Before shipment, inspect dimensions, function, finish, quantities, packaging and approved label artwork against the order. Record defects, agree corrections and review the recheck before authorising dispatch. Keep the inspection record alongside the product reports for your broker’s review. Factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.

Give your own broker the arrival work
