Start with the Nepali importer's EXIM registration

Nepal's official single-window FAQ states that the Export Import code is registration required for the person importing or exporting goods. Before committing to a factory, ask your own customs broker to confirm the importing entity's EXIM registration and whether any exemption applies to your proposed shipment.

Agree who sells to you, who exports from China and who imports in Nepal. Give your broker that arrangement before paying a deposit. Our overseas buying guide covers the shared purchasing process; this guide adds Nepal's registration gate and the delivery arrangements for a landlocked destination.

Name the seaport or border point before comparing quotes

Nepal is landlocked. We quote to the seaport or border point you name, with the onward leg agreed separately. Put the exact handover location, delivery term, freight, insurance arrangements and exclusions in writing. Ask who arranges transit, border handling and delivery from that point to your premises.

If your proposed route passes through India or Bangladesh, ask your forwarder and broker to explain the transit arrangements. The India guide and Bangladesh guide concern imports into those destinations; ask your broker which procedures apply to your Nepal-bound transit shipment.

Agree the document pack before production

We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the Chinese factory and agreed seller. If Cambridge China Bridge sells to you, we provide our commercial invoice and explain the direct shipment from China. Send drafts to your broker to check names, descriptions, values, quantities, weights and package references.

Ask your broker whether a certificate of origin is needed and which form is acceptable; we coordinate obtaining it in China where agreed. The factory supplies available product test reports for review. Ask your broker or product adviser to check the exact product, proposed labels and certification position with Nepal's relevant authority before approving production.

Check the supplier and inspect before shipment

Our own staff in China check the supplier's identity, manufacturing site and ability to make your specification. We compare samples, production arrangements and payment details with the proposed order. Resolve unexplained changes in factory, materials or bank beneficiary before releasing further payment.

Agree inspection criteria for materials, dimensions, function, workmanship, quantities, packaging and approved labels. We inspect against the agreed specification and sample, record findings and coordinate corrections before release. Keep inspection photographs, the written release decision and factory test reports together. Our buy-through-a-UK-company service explains the purchasing arrangement.

Give your own broker a checked arrival file

Appoint your own Nepali customs broker before shipment. Agree their scope: checking classification and valuation, preparing and submitting the entry and supporting documents, answering customs queries, coordinating examination and arranging release. Your own customs broker confirms the final entry.

Ask the broker to budget duties, taxes, clearance and local handling separately from our quoted delivery scope. Allocate transit and onward transport costs explicitly. Send the checked document pack before dispatch and agree who responds if customs asks for further product information or supporting evidence.
