Start with the product’s permit route

Make permit eligibility your first check before committing to a factory order. The accessible NaPHIS government page describes its import permit as covering plants, plant products and regulated articles entering Eswatini. Keep that plant-health scope clear when discussing your shipment.

Send your own customs broker the product description, material, intended use and Chinese origin. Ask for written confirmation of any applicable import licence, product approval, testing or labelling requirements before approving production. Use the overseas buying guide for the wider sourcing process.

Name the seaport or border point in the quote

Eswatini is landlocked. We quote to the seaport or border point you name, with the onward leg agreed separately. Give us the exact handover location and ask the quote to identify the freight scope, unloading arrangements and charges left for you to arrange.

If your route passes through South Africa, ask your forwarder and broker to distinguish transit arrangements from entry for sale there. The South Africa guide provides context for that market; send your advisers the proposed route and final destination rather than relying on a port name alone.

Agree the document pack before shipment

We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the Chinese factory. Agree who issues the invoice and check that the seller, buyer, product descriptions, quantities, values and delivery terms match the transaction. Match carton details, weights and dimensions to the packing list.

Tell us before ordering whether your broker needs a certificate of origin or particular test reports. We obtain available model-specific reports from the factory and arrange the agreed certificate of origin where requested. Send drafts to your broker before shipment so missing information can be resolved while the goods remain in China.

Check the supplier and the finished goods

Our own staff in China check the supplier’s business identity, actual production site and ability to make the agreed specification. We compare the offered model with samples and supporting reports, and ask who performs any outsourced production.

Before shipment, we inspect against the approved sample and written acceptance criteria. Agree checks for materials, dimensions, operation, quantities, packaging and artwork, with photographs and recorded findings. Resolve discrepancies before authorising shipment. Define these tasks in the scope when buying through a UK company.

Give your broker ownership of the arrival plan

Appoint your own customs broker in Eswatini before ordering. Agree that the broker will confirm classification, valuation, applicable duties and taxes, permit paperwork and the final entry. Send the shipment documents and transport details ahead of arrival for review.

Ask the broker and forwarder to allocate responsibility for transit paperwork, border presentation, customs queries, release and onward transport. Keep a shared record of the named handover point and outstanding documents. Our China-side inspection findings and document checks support this handover; your own broker confirms the final entry.
