Buying from China for a business? How our UK China sourcing agent service works · China sourcing agent for businesses outside the UK

Start with the prior import declaration
Burkina Faso's official public-service portal places imports with an FOB value of at least 500 000 FCFA within its prior import declaration procedure, known as DPI. Ask your own customs broker to confirm the application for your proposed purchase before you authorise shipment. Compare the threshold with the goods' FOB value, rather than treating a delivered quotation as the same figure.
Send the broker the product description, intended use, materials, quantity and draft supplier invoice. Ask which importer credentials, product permissions, testing and label information apply to that exact order. Our overseas buying guide explains the wider sourcing arrangement; this guide adds the Burkina Faso declaration and inland handover.
Name the seaport or border point
Burkina Faso is landlocked. We quote to the seaport or border point you name, with the onward leg agreed separately. State the exact terminal or crossing, delivery term and handover point so that the quotation has a clear endpoint.
Ask for separate lines showing what is included in freight, insurance, destination handling and onward transport. Agree who arranges transit, storage and delivery into Burkina Faso. If you are comparing a route through Ghana, use the Ghana guide for its separate destination context and have your broker confirm the transit arrangements for your shipment.
Agree the document pack before production
We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the Chinese factory and arrange the certificate of origin and relevant test reports within the agreed scope. Ask your broker to approve draft documents before dispatch. Agree which party issues the commercial invoice when you buy through the UK company, so the seller, buyer, goods and payment records remain consistent.
Match descriptions, quantities, carton marks, weights and model references across the documents and actual goods. Check that test reports identify the ordered configuration. Have your broker specify any further documents or approvals needed for your product and route. Use the Nigeria guide only for a separate Nigerian destination, rather than carrying its certificate process into this order.
Check the supplier and inspect the shipment
Our own staff in China check the supplier's business identity, production address and ability to make the agreed product. We establish whether the business quoting is the manufacturer or an intermediary, review samples and agree a written specification. Send your broker's confirmed product and label requirements before approving packaging artwork.
Before shipment, we inspect production against the approved sample and specification, checking workmanship, dimensions, functions, quantities and packaging as agreed. We report defects and agree corrective work before release. Factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.

Give your broker control of the arrival handover
Agree a written scope with your own customs broker covering classification, valuation, the declaration, document submission, duties and taxes, inspection coordination and release. Include the transit handover from the named seaport or border point. The buyer's own customs broker confirms the final entry and local charges.
To request a quote, send the product brief, quantity, buyer details, chosen seaport or border point and the broker's document checklist. Ask us to identify the China-side work and delivery endpoint in writing. Our buy-through-UK-company service explains how the purchasing arrangement works.
