EORI Number Checker

Check GB EORI numbers against HMRC's live register, one number per line. Company details appear only when the trader has consented.

Use GB followed by 12 or 15 digits. Spaces are removed and letters are converted to uppercase. XI followed by 12 digits is a valid format but must be checked on the EU EORI validation service.

Numbers are sent to HMRC to perform this check. CCB does not log the looked-up numbers or cache the results.

A valid EORI does not guarantee that company details will be shown. A company may not have consented to sharing its name and address.

What is an EORI number?

EORI stands for Economic Operators Registration and Identification. It identifies an operator for customs activity. The EORI you need depends on where goods move; Great Britain uses the GB prefix and Northern Ireland may require XI.

Can I check an XI EORI number here?

HMRC documents this API for GB EORI numbers. Use the EU EORI validation service for XI numbers.

Why is the company name missing?

HMRC returns the name and address only where the trader agreed to share them. Missing company details do not mean an EORI is invalid.
