China Public Holiday and Canton Fair Calendar 2026–2027
Every official Chinese public holiday for 2026, with the weekend days that become working days, what is known so far for 2027, and the three phases of the autumn 2026 Canton Fair. Use it to set order, production and shipping dates around the days factories actually close.
China public holidays 2026 (official)
Dates from the State Council General Office notice on the 2026 holiday arrangements (国办发明电〔2025〕7号, issued 4 November 2025). A make-up working day is a Saturday or Sunday that offices and most factories work to pay back a bridged day off.
The seven 2026 breaks add up to 33 days off, weekends included. The longest breaks are the Spring Festival, 15 to 23 February (9 days), and National Day, 1 to 7 October (7 days).

China public holidays 2027 (provisional)
Provisional: the State Council had not published the 2027 holiday notice when this page was checked. It is usually issued in the autumn of the year before. The dates below are only the statutory days set by the national holiday regulations; the notice will add bridged days and make-up working days, so the real breaks will be longer.

How factories behave around Chinese New Year and Golden Week
The statutory Spring Festival break is the shortest part of the disruption. Many factory workers travel home to other provinces, so lines slow down and close before the official days start, and restart gradually afterwards as staff return. Some workers take the chance to change jobs, so a factory can come back short of experienced hands.
Orders placed in the weeks before the break compete for the same shrinking capacity, and freight space out of China tightens as every exporter tries to ship first. Treat the planner's wind-down date, not the statutory holiday, as your real deadline.
National Day (Golden Week) is a shorter, cleaner stop: most factories close for the official days and work the make-up weekends. Production queues and export bookings fill up in September ahead of it, and the Canton Fair follows in mid-October.
Canton Fair 2026: 140th session
The China Import and Export Fair in Guangzhou runs in three phases, each with its own product categories. Dates and categories are as listed on the fair's official site.

Holiday dates are the State Council's for mainland China. Individual factories set their own closing and reopening dates around them, so confirm those with each supplier.

When is Chinese New Year 2026 and how long are factories closed?
The official Spring Festival holiday in 2026 runs from 15 to 23 February, 9 days, with Saturday 14 February and Saturday 28 February worked as make-up days. Factories typically slow down before the official days and take longer to return to full output afterwards, so plan for a longer stop than the statutory break.
What are China's Golden Week dates in 2026?
National Day Golden Week runs from Thursday 1 to Wednesday 7 October 2026. Sunday 20 September and Saturday 10 October are make-up working days.
Are the 2027 Chinese public holidays published yet?
Not when this page was checked on 27 September 2026. The State Council normally publishes the next year's notice in the autumn. Until then the 2027 dates here are provisional: only the statutory days, such as 5 to 8 February for the Spring Festival, with Chinese New Year's Day on 6 February 2027.
What is a make-up working day in China?
To join a public holiday to a weekend, the State Council moves working days: a Saturday or Sunday near the holiday becomes a normal working day. Offices, suppliers and many factories work those days, so a week with a make-up day can have six working days.
When is the Canton Fair in autumn 2026?
The 140th Canton Fair runs in three phases: 15 to 19 October (Advanced Manufacturing), 23 to 27 October (Quality Home Life) and 31 October to 4 November 2026 (Better Life).
