GB tumble dryer energy label easement
GB suppliers can use the existing label and fiche or the easement label with its new product information sheet. Choose the appropriate repairability option and keep evidence supporting the declared values. Separate the display label from the additional transition label supplied to dealers. Cambridge China Bridge can help check the factory documents.

Choose a complete label and sheet route
The easement is a temporary enforcement approach. It allows the illustrated easement labels with the new product information sheets instead of the existing GB label and fiche. The guidance includes condenser and non-condenser versions, with or without repairability information. Use the corresponding sheet and the official Create an energy label service; do not simply relabel an old efficiency rating.
Keep the importer’s evidence together
The importer first placing a regulated product on the GB market is a supplier responsible for compliance. Labels and sheets need supporting technical documentation that allows their accuracy to be assessed. Ask the factory for model-specific test results, calculations and approved artwork. Reconcile model identifiers across the documents and production sample. Our electrical imports guide covers the wider duties.
Check repairability before approving artwork
For the repairability version, ask for the declared class and index with the underlying disassembly, fastener, tool and repair-information calculations. Compare these against the official sheet template. Open the proposed spare-parts, repair-instruction and indicative-price links yourself. Ask who maintains them and whether they describe the purchased model. Our certification guide explains why a certificate alone is insufficient.
Separate dealer supply from consumer display
The government’s transition guidance requires suppliers, from 6 months after the statutory instrument is laid, to provide dealers with both the existing or easement label and the new statutory rescaled label, with or without repairability class. Dealers must never display both to consumers together. At 10 months, suppliers must switch to the statutory rescaled label with repairability class. Confirm the applicable stage before dispatch.

Approve the production and retailer handover
Agree the display artwork, accompanying sheet, additional transition artwork and website files in writing. Give the retailer clear instructions identifying the display version. Check printed materials against the approved files during quality inspection, and keep a dated copy of the guidance used for the decision. Cambridge China Bridge’s own staff in China can help compare factory documents and production materials.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still use the existing GB tumble dryer label?
During the easement, yes, with its existing fiche. The easement label and new sheet are an alternative. Check the separate transition duties before supplying dealers.
Does the easement label need repairability information?
The guidance offers versions with and without repairability information. Use the corresponding sheet and check the declared data before approving the artwork.
Is a factory certificate enough for energy labelling?
No. Obtain technical documentation supporting the label and sheet, and check that test results, calculations and artwork describe the model you are buying.
Can a retailer display both tumble dryer labels?
No. Government transition guidance prohibits displaying both labels to consumers together, even when suppliers must provide dealers with both.
