Sourcing cashmere yarn and garments from Qinghe

Choose Qinghe suppliers by what you are buying: dehaired fibre, yarn or finished garments. Link processor and garment-factory visits around the same material lot, then check how yarn choice affects the finished sample. Cambridge China Bridge can arrange these checks through its own staff in China.

Use the cluster map to choose your starting point

The official account describes Qinghe's chain from raw cashmere purchasing and dehairing through spinning, knitting, weaving and garment making to online sales. This makes it a place to investigate both processing and finished-product suppliers. It does not establish that an individual seller owns every stage.

For a knitted collection, shortlist spinners and knitting factories; for woven garments, investigate the cloth producer and garment maker. Treat a showroom or online shop as an introduction, then identify the production sites behind the offered product.

Select suppliers at the stage you need

Start with your intended deliverable and who will manage the next production stage. Buying fibre makes sense only if you have a processor to turn it into the required yarn. Buying finished garments calls for a supplier that can manage material sourcing, construction and finishing against your brief.

Connect the material brief to the garment

Send the spinner and garment maker the same material brief. Define composition, yarn construction, colour reference, intended fabric or stitch, garment weight and care method. Ask the garment maker to confirm that the proposed yarn suits its equipment and your design before approving it. Use the product specification guide to organise the written brief.

Agree sample checks for fibre composition, pilling, colour fastness and dimensional change, with methods and acceptance criteria recorded before testing. Compare handle before and after the proposed care treatment. A soft showroom sample alone cannot establish composition or how your finished garment will perform.

Arrange linked processor and garment-factory visits

Ask each shortlisted garment factory to name the spinner and any separate dyeing or finishing site proposed for your order. Book linked visits with the relevant production staff present and the same yarn lot or trial material available to follow between sites. Confirm access to working production areas before arranging travel.

At the processor, examine material identification, lot separation and the records accompanying outgoing yarn. At the garment factory, follow receipt of that yarn through knitting or fabric handling, assembly and finishing. Compare the lot references at the handover and ask who resolves a yarn fault discovered during production.

Record which stages are owned, bought in or subcontracted, with a named contact for each handover. The factory capability guide covers equipment verification, while preparing for a factory visit helps organise the visit itself.

Turn the visits into an order decision

Leave with a production map, identified sample materials and an agreed route for making your trial garment. Ask for a sample using the proposed yarn and finishing process. Record any unresolved difference between the processor's specification and the garment factory's requirements before choosing the supplier.

Choose either a garment supplier responsible for the linked production chain or separate suppliers with written handover responsibilities. Agree who purchases yarn, holds unused material, approves substitutions and handles rejected lots. Apply the bulk production and sample guide once this Qinghe production route is settled.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy cashmere yarn directly from Qinghe?

Investigate spinners rather than relying on garment sellers. Ask who spins and dyes the proposed yarn, and trial it on the equipment that will make your product.

Does a Qinghe cashmere factory make everything?

The cluster covers multiple production stages, but an individual supplier may subcontract or buy materials. Identify the actual sites proposed for your order.

Should I visit the spinner or the garment factory?

Visit the linked sites where yarn choice and garment performance need checking together. Follow the same trial material and compare the records at each handover.

How do I check Qinghe cashmere quality?

Agree composition and performance tests for your intended product. Assess the finished trial garment after its proposed care treatment, alongside the yarn specification and lot records.
