Importing from China to Niger: marking rules
Check Niger’s product-marking list before approving packaging. Your own broker should confirm its application and the final import entry. We check Chinese suppliers, inspect goods and quote to your named seaport or border point. Cambridge China Bridge supports buyers in Niger.

Check the marking list before approving packaging
Start with whether your product falls within Niger’s product-marking arrangements. The government’s Cabinet statement says the list of products subject to marking is determined by an order of the minister responsible for commerce. Ask your own customs broker to obtain the applicable order and confirm the position for your exact goods before you approve labels or retail packaging.
Send the broker the product description, intended use, materials and proposed artwork. Ask for written instructions on any marking, its placement and who arranges it. Return the approved instructions to us before printing. For other destination procedures, consult the separate guides to Nigeria and Algeria.
Name the seaport or border point in your enquiry
Niger is landlocked. We quote to the seaport or border point you name, with the onward leg agreed separately. Give the exact location and delivery term, rather than asking for a price simply to Niger. Ask your forwarder to confirm the proposed route before we book transport.
Have the quote identify freight, insurance, unloading and destination charges that are included or excluded. Agree who arranges transit and inland delivery, and obtain separate estimates for those services. Our guide for buyers outside the UK explains the wider sourcing arrangement.
Agree the document pack before production
We coordinate the commercial invoice and packing list with the Chinese factory and the agreed seller. Check the buyer and consignee details, product descriptions, quantities, package marks, weights and delivery term against the order. Send drafts to your broker before shipment so discrepancies can be corrected while the goods remain in China.
Ask your broker whether a certificate of origin or particular test reports are needed for this product. We arrange the origin document where agreed and obtain available factory reports or organise agreed testing. Check that reports identify the actual model and construction being purchased. Agree any missing evidence and who will obtain it before production starts.
Check the supplier and inspect the finished goods
Our staff in China check the supplier’s business identity, production address and whether manufacturing is carried out there or subcontracted. We compare the offered product with your written specification and approved sample, and record which business takes the order and receives payment.
Before shipment, we inspect agreed samples of finished production for specification, workmanship, function, quantity, labels and packing. We report defects and follow up agreed corrections before release. Agree the inspection scope and shipment approval process through our buy-through-a-UK-company service.

Your own broker confirms the final entry
Appoint your own customs broker in Niger and agree their work before ordering. Ask them to confirm the final entry, classification, valuation, duties, taxes and applicable product requirements. At arrival, their agreed scope should cover lodging the declaration, presenting supporting documents, coordinating customs queries or examination, and arranging release with you.
Keep port handling, transit and Niger clearance responsibilities explicit, especially where different agents handle each leg. Send us the broker’s document checklist and contact details with your enquiry, alongside the specification, quantity, packaging proposal and named quotation point.
