Importing from China to Luxembourg: EORI first
Start with your importing company's EORI registration: Luxembourg Customs says applications must precede customs activities. Name the seaport or border point for your quote and agree onward transport separately. Your own broker confirms the final entry. China-side sourcing and checks are handled by Cambridge China Bridge.

Check the importer's EORI before shipment
Luxembourg's official logistics portal states that EORI is mandatory for customs declarations. Luxembourg Customs says the application must be submitted before activities subject to customs legislation begin. Ask your own broker to check the importing company's registration before authorising shipment.
Agree which company will import and give the broker its details. Our guide for buyers outside the UK explains the general purchasing arrangement; this guide adds Luxembourg's registration timing and the handover between your named arrival point and Luxembourg.
Name the seaport or border point in your quote
Luxembourg is landlocked. We can source through our UK company and quote from China to the seaport or border point you name. Give the exact location and delivery term, then agree freight, insurance, destination handling and the point where responsibility passes. Agree the onward leg to Luxembourg separately.
Ask your broker and forwarder to agree where clearance will happen and how the goods will reach Luxembourg. Our Germany guide and France guide help when comparing those arrival routes. Use our buy-through-UK-company service to define the purchasing scope.
Brief your broker and settle product evidence
Appoint your own customs broker to handle the arrival declaration and clearance queries. Ask them to review classification, origin and customs value, confirm duties and import VAT, and coordinate any transit arrangements with the forwarder. Your own customs broker confirms the final entry for the agreed route.
EU guidance says imported products must conform to EU law; non-conforming products cannot be imported. Before production, ask a product compliance specialist to identify applicable tests, declarations, labels and instructions for your exact product and Luxembourg market. Have the specialist approve the proposed wording and languages before the factory prints packaging.
Agree who supplies each shipment document
The Chinese factory provides product descriptions, packing data and available test reports. We coordinate the commercial invoice with the actual seller and prepare the packing list from the factory's final packing details. Where your broker requests a certificate of origin, we coordinate it and ask the broker to confirm the acceptable issuer and form before dispatch.
Send draft documents to your broker before loading. Match buyer and seller details, descriptions, quantities, carton counts and weights across the pack. Check that test reports identify the ordered model, materials and manufacturer. Resolve missing evidence before release rather than relying on a promise to send it after sailing.

Verify the supplier and inspect before release
Our own staff in China check supplier identity, the manufacturing site and the proposed production capability. Compare the business licence, contracting company and payment account, and investigate unexplained differences. Agree a retained sample, written specification and acceptance criteria before production.
Before shipment, we inspect finished goods against those criteria, including workmanship, function, packaging and approved labels. Record defects and corrective work for your release decision. Keep inspection findings separate from laboratory test evidence. For pricing, factory audits and inspections are usually included in the quote; complex checks that need a third party are charged separately and agreed in advance.
