Importing from China to Finland: EORI registration
Start with the Finnish importing business's EORI registration: EU guidance makes an EORI number mandatory for businesses importing goods into the EU. Buying from China for a business? How our UK China sourcing agent service works · China sourcing agent for businesses outside the UK

Start with the importing business's EORI registration
For a business importing from China into Finland, start with EORI registration. The European Commission's import guidance states that an EORI number is mandatory when a business imports goods into the EU. Ask your own Finnish customs broker to check the importing company's number before you approve shipment.
Send the broker your company details, product description, materials, intended use and destination port before ordering. Ask for a written checklist covering customs identification and product-specific checks. The overseas buying guide explains the general service; this guide adds the Finland handover.
Agree port pricing and the broker's arrival work
We are a UK-based sourcing company with our own staff in China. We can arrange purchasing from Chinese factories and quote shipment directly to your named Finnish port. Identify the delivery term, freight, insurance and destination charges included or excluded. Record who sells the goods, who receives the invoice and who imports them through our buy-through-UK-company service.
Appoint your own Finnish customs broker and agree their scope before dispatch: classification, valuation, duty and import VAT checks, the arrival declaration, clearance queries and release coordination. Budget for port handling and onward delivery unless included in the quote. Your own customs broker confirms the final entry. For a comparable preparation checklist, see the Netherlands guide.
Set product requirements before production
The European Commission says importers must check that goods from outside the EU fulfil EU safety, health and environmental protection requirements before placing them on the market. Its CE guidance says CE marking is required only for products covered by harmonised EU rules that specifically mandate it. Ask your Finnish product adviser to identify the requirements for the exact goods.
Turn that assessment into a factory checklist covering testing, supporting documents, labels and instructions, including the languages your adviser specifies for Finland. Approve artwork before printing. Ask separately about any product registration or approval. The Norway guide offers a comparison of product-approval planning; use your Finnish checklist for this order.
Prepare the factory and seller document pack
The Chinese factory provides packing details and relevant test reports; the seller named in your purchasing arrangement issues the commercial invoice. We coordinate the pack and compare descriptions, quantities, values, delivery terms and buyer details against the order. The packing list should describe carton contents, weights and dimensions. Send drafts to your broker while corrections can still be made in China.
Ask your broker whether a certificate of origin is needed and which form they accept; we coordinate obtaining it from the China side when requested. Ask the factory for test reports matching the ordered model, materials and configuration. We check their scope against the specification and flag gaps for your adviser. Agree responsibility for transport documents with the forwarder.

Connect supplier checks to shipment approval
Our staff in China check supplier identity, the production site, equipment and proposed subcontracting. We compare supplier, invoice and payment details and investigate mismatches. Give us your Finnish product checklist during supplier selection so that missing testing or documentation can be discussed before you commit.
Before shipment, we inspect against the approved sample and written specification, checking workmanship, measurements, quantities, packaging and agreed label artwork. We record findings and corrections for your shipment decision. Keep the inspection report alongside the laboratory and product documents, with each file's scope clear. Resolve discrepancies between the goods and the broker's document pack before dispatch.
