Where to put Amazon FBA barcode stickers

Confirm which barcode the shipment needs
Check the current instructions in your UK seller account for the exact listing, seller role and barcode eligibility. Amazon says products without a manufacturer barcode need Amazon barcode stickers, whether sold by brand owners or resellers. Download the applicable label from Seller Central and give the factory the original file.
Keep the account instructions and label file with the artwork approval. Ask the factory to flag any conflict between the label footprint and existing product information before applying stickers. Mark the information stickers must leave readable
Photograph the product, retail packaging and any final bag or wrap. Mark protected areas on the artwork for applicable warnings, manufacturer and importer details, conformity markings, and batch or serial identifiers. For toys supplied in Great Britain, hazard and risk information must be in English, clearly visible and easily legible.
For covered electrical equipment, manufacturer details and product identification normally belong on the equipment, with alternatives where that is not possible. Keep the approved locations protected rather than moving information simply to make room for a fulfilment sticker.
Resolve competing barcodes without hiding warnings
When using Amazon barcodes, Amazon's placement guidance says to cover other visible barcodes, except serial-number barcodes and Transparency authentication labels. Identify what each code does before covering it. Do not treat every barcode as a retail product code or assume the fulfilment label replaces the product's batch identity.
If the original retail barcode sits beside safety text or importer details, propose a separate opaque patch confined to that barcode and a fulfilment label elsewhere. If that cannot preserve the protected information, revise the packaging artwork or preparation arrangement. Send the proposed finished layout to the buyer for approval before bulk work.
Approve the fully packed sample
Ask for a physical sample using the intended sticker, adhesive, printing process and final packaging. Choose a flat area; avoid seams, folds and corners. Preserve the downloaded label's formatting and clear space. Check whether glare, wrinkles or wrapping affect the barcode, and whether the sticker lifts or damages nearby printed information during handling.
Scan the finished sellable pack and record the decoded value against the intended product and variant. Photograph every labelled face after preparation, including warnings and identifiers. Approve barcode performance and preserved information as separate checks: a successful scan does not show that the rest of the pack remains suitable.

Give the factory a controlled placement brief
Issue an approved layout showing the label file, packaging revision, protected areas, sticker position and any separate barcode-covering patch. Include photographs of the accepted sample and name the person who approves changes. Ask inspectors to check finished stock across variants and label-printing runs, including barcode-to-content matches and readable batch references.
Hold affected stock if stickers obscure information or the placement differs from the approved sample.
