EXW to FOB to CIF to DDP Price Converter
Compare EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP on the same shipment basis using only costs you enter. Start with any of these quoted terms; the calculator removes costs already included, then adds each component once. DDP here includes import VAT.
Use one currency and the same total shipment quantity throughout. These are cost equivalents, not new supplier offers. FOB and CIF are sea or inland-waterway terms; use FCA or CIP for other modes.
Enter every cost component even when it is already included in the quote: it is needed to work backwards. Separate origin loading and post-border charges correctly. All amounts must exclude import duty and VAT except a DDP quote, which must include both. No supplier margin, tax recovery or exchange-rate change is assumed.
UK duty and VAT calculation
For a simplified UK import, duty = customs value × duty rate. The CIF-equivalent customs value includes goods and transport and insurance to the UK border. Import VAT = (customs value + duty + destination charges + delivery to the known UK destination) × VAT rate. Do not add costs already included in the customs value again.
This model excludes excise, trade-remedy duties and customs-value adjustments such as assists and royalties. Other countries may use a different tax base: entering their rates alone does not change this UK formula. Confirm that basis with a local broker before using the result.
