Can it be made in China? A free check
Send us a drawing, a photo, a description of a sample or simply the idea. Within 3 working days our team in China replies with a one-page assessment of how it would be made and what to watch for. It is free, with no obligation.
What the one-page assessment covers
- Likely manufacturing process
- For example injection moulding, CNC machining, sheet-metal work, die casting, sewing or assembly from bought-in parts, and whether new tooling would be needed.
- Where in China it is usually made
- The industrial cluster or region where factories already make this kind of product, so the search starts in the right place.
- MOQ realities
- What factories making this kind of product usually expect for a first order, and what tends to change it: stock materials and colours, tooling, packaging.
- Main risks
- Tooling ownership and cost, certification for the UK or your own market, and protecting your design.
- The next step
- What we would suggest doing next, whether that is samples, a fuller specification or a different approach.
What it does not include
- Prices or supplier quotes. Those come in a quote once the specification is agreed.
- Engineering sign-off of your design, or a promise that a factory will take the order.
What to send
- A drawing or CAD file, shared by link (Google Drive, Dropbox, WeTransfer or similar).
- Photos of a sample or of a similar product.
- A description: what it does, rough size, material and the quantity you have in mind.
- Or just the idea in a sentence or two. We will say what else we would need.
If the design is confidential, describe it in words first and ask us to sign your NDA before you send drawings.

Common questions
Is the "Can it be made in China?" check really free?
Yes. It is free preliminary work with no obligation. If you decide to go further, we confirm the scope of the next step with you before any work starts.
Will the assessment tell me what it will cost?
No. It covers how the product would be made, where in China it is usually made, typical MOQ realities and the main risks. Prices come in a quote once the specification is agreed.
What if I only have an idea and no drawing?
Send the idea. A sentence on what it does, roughly how big it is and what it is made of is enough for a first read, and the assessment says what else would be needed.
How long does it take?
We reply with the one-page assessment within 3 working days of receiving your description, drawing or photos.
Who does the assessment?
Our own staff in China, who work with factories in the Pearl River Delta and Yangtze River Delta.
