EV chargers from China: approximate UK landed prices
Approximate landed prices for three classes of EV charger made in China, worked out from a 2026 manufacturer quotation and typical freight. They are rounded ranges to show the scale of the saving, not a quote: the exact figure depends on the model, the quantity and the UK rules your site must meet.

What the ranges include
- Factory price, sea freight, handling in China and the UK, customs clearance and delivery in the UK, excluding VAT, which a VAT-registered importer normally recovers.
- Customs duty is not included: it depends on the commodity code, which a customs broker should confirm for the exact model.
- Timing: about two weeks of production after payment, then around six weeks by sea.
- One charger shipped alone costs more per unit than a batch, because sea freight has fixed handling and clearance charges.
UK rules to check before you buy
- Home and workplace chargers sold in Great Britain must meet the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulations 2021.
- Public chargers fall under the Public Charge Point Regulations 2023: contactless payment on new public chargers of 8 kW and above, and for rapid networks of 50 kW and above, 99% reliability, a 24/7 helpline and open data.
- A UKCA or CE declaration and technical file for the exact model, and if a grant matters, confirmation that the model qualifies.
- Who handles warranty, spare parts and repairs in the UK, agreed in writing before the order.
