Buy the fitting and its installation together

Ask what a load rating actually measures
A number on a runner listing is incomplete without mounting arrangement, drawer dimensions, load distribution and test procedure. Ask for that context and for evidence relating to the exact model. Trial the complete assembly, including supplied screws and mounting plates. Keep a signed sample and revision-controlled drawing. Names such as brushed brass or satin nickel are not colour standards. Put a physical finish sample beside the other fittings and approve it under the lighting in which the product will be used. State the environment, cleaning products and any exposure requirements before the supplier selects a finish.
Agree spare screws, mounting plates and replacement mechanisms as separate lines. Parts that become unavailable after a cabinet rollout can erase the original saving. Ask the factory to label models and revisions clearly, and confirm whether replacement orders can use the same specification.
Compare a fitted cost, not only a piece price
Include freight, packing, inspection, sorting and installation time in your landed-cost comparison. Hardware is compact, but a cheap fitting that needs holes reworked or arrives scratched creates local labour costs. An urgent repair or a handful of unusual hinges is often better served by a UK specialist.
