How to export Prams from the UK to China
Check whether your prams require CCC certification before import, confirm the Chinese tariff classification and prepare the UK export declaration. Duty and import VAT affect the buyer's landed cost. Cambridge China Bridge's own staff in China find and check Chinese importers and distributors for UK brands.

Check CCC coverage before offering stock
Prams and pushchairs fall under HS 871500, with Chinese tariff line 87150000. The CCC reference table links children's carriage products to 8715000010 and 8715000090 and specifies third-party certification. Confirm with the Chinese authority whether each model is catalogue-covered and what certification is required before shipment. Approvals take months, not weeks, and the Chinese authority decides.
HMRC recorded £30k of UK goods exports to mainland China under HS 871500 in 2025 (2024: £70k, -57.3%). Exports to Hong Kong under the same codes were £40k. January to July 2026: £39k against £30k in the same months of 2025 (+29.4%).
The largest UK export line to China under HS 871500 in 2025 was 87150090, Parts of baby carriages, n.e.s., at £23k. Complete carriages under 87150010 accounted for £7k. These totals include parts, so they should not be treated as sales of complete prams alone.
Allow for duty and VAT in the buyer's price
Chinese tariff line 87150000 has an MFN duty rate of 6%. Import VAT is generally 13%, subject to the reduced-rate list and special rules. Its base is customs value plus duty plus consumption tax. The importer's customs broker or adviser confirms whether consumption tax applies to these prams. Duty and VAT add to landed cost and shape the price the importer can offer.
Prepare evidence against the pram safety standard
GB 14748-2006, the mandatory standard for children's pushchair safety requirements, is current. Use it alongside the CCC scope check when preparing the model's product information and certification evidence for your Chinese partner. Keep complete prams and replacement parts clearly distinguished: sharing HS 871500 does not settle which certification requirements apply to an individual item.
Set up the UK export declaration
For exports from England, Scotland or Wales, obtain a GB EORI and classify each item correctly. The online export declaration needs the commodity code, value, weight, packaging, destination, transport details, and invoice and packing list references. Agree who will make the declaration for the prams or parts, and give the carrier the invoice and any required export licences or certificates.
Assess retail cross-border e-commerce separately
Chinese code 87150000, baby carriages and their parts, appears on the cross-border e-commerce retail import list. Through bonded 1210 or direct 9610 channels, listed goods are supervised as personal-use articles, with first-import licence, registration and filing requirements not applied. Exceptions cover goods from suspended epidemic areas and emergency handling of major quality or safety risks.
The overseas business carries the main product quality and safety responsibility. It must appoint a mainland-registered company to register with customs, declare truthfully and share civil liability. The retail limits are RMB 5,000 per transaction and RMB 26,000 per person annually; assess whether your pram offer fits those limits.
Before ordering, consumers must agree to a risk notice covering differences between origin-country and Chinese standards, possible absence of Chinese labels, access to a Chinese electronic label, and personal use without resale. This route therefore needs a consumer retail offer; it cannot supply stock for a distributor to resell.

Find and check a Chinese trading partner
Ask a prospective importer to explain the intended route, the model's CCC position and its landed-cost calculation before agreeing the supply price. Through our export-to-China service, our own staff in China find and check Chinese importers and distributors for UK brands. If an importer has already approached you, our staff in China check that company before stock is sent or anything is signed.
We prepare registration and label work with licensed partners in China. Regulated roles, including the importer of record and any required cross-border e-commerce agent, stay with licensed partners in China, and the brand's own filings stay the brand's. We check with licensed partners.
