Getting started

Can I delete my account before a refund?

Ask platform support whether closure is available, but keep your account accessible while an order, return or refund remains unresolved. Export records, confirm how disputes would continue and check that refunds have arrived before closing. Cambridge China Bridge can help gather supplier records through its own staff in China.

Check what closure would mean for your order

Before using the delete button, ask platform support to check your account against every unfinished order, return, refund and dispute. Request written confirmation of any closure conditions, whether you would lose order history or messages, and how an unresolved case would be handled afterwards. Save the reply outside the account.

Keep the account open if these answers are unclear. Removing an app is not a reliable way to establish whether the account itself has closed. If an agent placed the order, establish whose account holds it and who will continue handling it. Our buying without an account guide explains that purchasing arrangement.

Export an evidence pack before changing access

Download order confirmations, specifications, seller details, invoices, payment receipts, messages, inspection photographs, tracking records and return instructions. Include dispute submissions, decisions, refund status and support correspondence. Where downloading is unavailable, save readable screenshots showing the order reference, dates and surrounding context.

Open the saved files to check they are complete and readable without signing in. Store them in your business records with an index linking each payment, parcel and claim to its order. For agent-held documents, agree delivery of the originals using our sourcing records guide. An exported pack preserves evidence; it does not provide access to the dispute workflow.

Maintain a working route to disputes and returns

Keep your login, recovery email and verification phone working while cases remain active. Record the next action and the deadline displayed for each case. Ask support how you would submit evidence, receive decisions or challenge an outcome after closure, and whether an alternative contact route can handle your specific case.

Avoid closing a dispute merely to clear the way for account deletion. Check the proposed resolution against the money actually received and any return still outstanding. Our guide to requests to close a dispute before refunding covers that situation. If you have already closed the account, contact support with your saved references and ask what recovery or case-handling options remain.

Reconcile refunds, wallet funds and unpaid charges

Match each expected refund to the receiving bank, card or wallet record. Distinguish a seller's promise, a platform status update and money you can actually access. Ask where a pending refund will go if the original payment method changes or the account closes. Resolve any return tracking or receipt question before treating the case as finished.

Check available and frozen wallet funds, deposits, credits, unpaid invoices and disputed charges. Request a statement and an explanation of how each item will be settled. Keep linked payment access until the refund or withdrawal route is confirmed. For an agent wallet, use our wallet withdrawal guide. Save the final reconciliation and closure acknowledgement.

Make a separate personal-data request

Treat closing your login and requesting deletion of personal data as separate tasks. Where UK data-protection rules apply, individuals have an erasure right in certain circumstances when their personal data is no longer needed; there are exceptions. Ask the organisation handling your data which process applies to your request rather than assuming that a marketplace delete button covers it.

Identify the personal data you want deleted and request a written explanation of anything retained, why it is retained and for how long. Explain that an order or dispute remains open and ask how necessary communications will continue. Keep business evidence outside the platform and ask your accountant which purchasing records to preserve. Do not use a deletion request as a substitute for resolving the transaction.

Frequently asked questions

Can I delete my account with a refund pending?

Ask support whether closure is available and where the refund would go. Keep access until you can confirm receipt and a working route for any unresolved case.

What should I download before deleting my account?

Save orders, specifications, invoices, payments, messages, tracking, return instructions and dispute records. Check that the files open without signing in.

Should I close a dispute before deleting my account?

Avoid closing it just to enable deletion. Check that the agreed refund has arrived and any return is resolved, then confirm the remaining case steps with support.

Does deleting my account delete my personal data?

Do not assume it does. Ask separately what personal data will be deleted or retained. Where UK data-protection rules apply, erasure rights depend on the circumstances and have exceptions.
